Abstract
This study examines the impact of combining Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs on student behavior and academic performance across three educational settings. By comparing data collected before and after the implementation of these programs, the research highlights significant changes in classroom dynamics, student discipline, and academic outcomes. Staff reported fewer behavioral disruptions and felt more confident using strategies to manage their classrooms. Students, in turn, showed greater awareness, responsibility, mindfulness, and engagement. In addition, the Imagine Learning Purpose Prep SEL program, used in a restorative setting, helped reduce repeat disciplinary issues and encouraged personal growth. Academic data also revealed improvements, suggesting that these interventions support both behavioral and academic success. Overall, the results indicate that integrating PBIS and SEL can create a more positive, respectful, and effective learning environment.
