The "CANADETTES"

The most famous group of dancing girls on this continent is the 24 "CANADETTES," the girls
who appear each year in the biggest grandstand show of them all at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, the largest Fair in the World.
The patrons of the Bloomsburg Fair are promised something entirely different in production in their big night spectacular, Ward Beam's
"IT'S WONDERFUL," than they have ever had in the past. There will be more "Ooh" and "Aahs" than have ever been heard when a dancing
group performs.
The girls will work in 3 big production numbers. This is the larg-es~ number of girls to work at Bloomsburg and the stage is being enlarged
because of the type of numbers they do. These girls will also work in the finale which will be the "Blue Danube."

ARTS and CRAFTS

HOBBY SHOW

FLOWER SHOW

In your visit to the Bloomsburg Fair do not fail to include the Arts a n d Crafts
building, where you will see
the latest creations of handiwork and needlework.
Featured in the Arts and
Crafts division is a special
display for 4-H Clubs.

The 1960 Hobby Show will
be the biggest yet. The Show
features both collective and
occupational hobbies in two
classes: Junior class (persons
18 years of age and under) ;
Senior class ( over 18 years).
Both groups include coins
and currency, U. S. and Foreign; Miniatures (all materials); nature studies (flowers,
insects, seeds); paper objects;
dolls and p u p p e t s; pipes;
guns; novelties; china paintings; candle craft; baskets;
plastics; chip carving; fishing
flies and equipment; models
(aeroplanes, ships, etc.); paper craft (objects made of paper) ; shell craft; taxidermy;
jewelry (metal); wood work;
objects made of thread or fabric and ceramics.

There will be outstanding
beauty in this year's Flower
Show where thousands of persons will walk through this
quiet, cool building to inspect
the pride of flower growers.
Special exhibits by Garden
Clubs will emphasize the
theme "Moods of the Times."
An added Garden Club feature
is the Shadow Box Class, an
arrangement of Flowers in a
Tea Pot.
The Show is under the superv1s10n of James C. Stradling.

Cotton Bag Sewing Contest
Twenty-four prizes and a
Portable Sewing Machine are
offered in the 1960 National
Cotton Bag Sewing Contest.
All articles must be made
from cotton bags.
George R. Pugh . is Superintendent of this department.

LIVESTOCK SHOW
Mr. J. Fred Giger, Livestock Superintendent of the
Bloomsburg Fair, anticipates
the largest Show in the Fair's
History.
Competition will be keen in
all departments.
In the cattle classes are five
divisions of milk cattle and
two divisions of beef cattle.
Registered sheep and swine
have seven divisions each.
There will be a special Show
of Aberdeen-Angus cattle.

HORSE PULLING
The horse pulling contest
will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning in the open air
arena on the western end of
the Fairgrounds.
There are 2 classifications:
horses weighing less than 3200
pounds per pair, and horses
weighing 3200 pounds or over
per pair. None are barred.
Entry fee $10.00 in Open Class.

The largest farm machinery
display ever b!'ought to the
Bloomsburg Fair will be on

Dealers from all over the
State will show and they will
put on tractor demonstrations,
and sawing exhibitions.

RAIN OR SHINE
The Night Grandstand
Shows will be put on, Rain or
Shine, because the stage is
well covered with protective
covering that makes it possible to run the show if it rains.

Agricultural Hall, housing
displays of farm crops, fruit
and home making delicacies,
will attract thousands.
A Special D i s p 1 a y for
Grange organizations is also
included in this department.
This year a special Best-ofShow Yeast Baking Award of
$10 for the yeast-raised bread,

visit the Midway at the Fair
this year. On special children's
days, rides are reduced in
price over certain hours of the
day.

CHILDREN'S DAYS
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are spec i a 1 children's
days. School children are admitted free throughout the
week. Teachers, upon proper
identification from their
schools, are granted free admission on school days.

POULTRY AND
RABBIT SHOW
Recognized as the largest
show in the east and one of
the best in the nation is the
Bloomsburg Fair Pou 1 try
Show, under the direction of
E. Myron Sands, Supt.
Due to the fact that more
poultry is entered than can be
cooped, only the best will be
accepted.
Ten dollars is offered for the
best male and female in both
standard and bantam breeds.
East of the poultry building
is located a large waterfowl
display.
The Rabbit Show, under Mr.
Sands' direction, promises to
be bigger than ever.

DOG SHOW
The increasing popularity
of the dog show at Bloomsburg Fair has resulted in the
construction of a larger, modern building, with a 150-pen
capacity.
This building will be packed
with working dogs, sporting
dogs and terriers.

DOLINOFF and RAYA SISTERS

THE GUTIS

A man and 3 lovely ladies seemingly defy gravity. They perform
slow-motion feats in mid-air without any visible means of support.
This is Dolinoff and Raya Sisters, who will bring to the Bloomsburg
Fair something entirely new in entertainment every night.

An European type of jungle comedy will
appear each night in the night show. The timing finesse and the humor of European comedy
is decidedly different than that of American
acts. You'll like it.

MING and LING
If you really want to laugh, you are
going· to get your chance when you see
MING AND LING. These 2 Chinese boys
appear every night at the Bloomsburg
Fair grandstand show.

stage production. Mr. Beam
promises that his Show will have
