Transcript: 411 S. Broad St. Philadelphia, Pa. September 18, 1920. Professor O.H. Bakeless, My dear Prof. Bakeless. During the school year 1907-1908, I assisted you with your clerical work and took post-graduate work in several subjects. One of these was Psychology. This year I expect to take a little work after school at the University of Pennsylvania. I just received a letter from them saying that the transcript of my Normal School record made no mention of post-graduate work in Psychology. Work in that subject taken subsequent to my graduation in 1907 can be counted as advanced credit in the University, so you will understand that it is important to me that the correct record is sent to them. The course was in Psychology, not Methods. Will you please see that this information, and the fact that the lessons were every day for a year, be sent to Dr. George Gailey Chambers, Director of Admissions, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Also, please mention the year, 1907-1908. It is about ten years since we heard from you. During that time I have been teaching in Philadelphia, first in the regular grades, then in the special Open-Window class. The children are undernourished or pre-tubercular. In many ways the work is harder than regular grade teaching, but it is very interesting and that compensates for the extra work. George was in France nearly two years. He was wounded but has fully recovered. He has a very interesting course in the University of Montpellier, in France near the Mediterranean. He was a first lieutenant and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. I hope you have not forgotten us since we left Bloomsburg and will write telling what changes have taken place, not forgetting what John is doing. Sincerely yours, Mac L. Howard.
