Dear Dr. Waller, Have been in France about four (4) months now doing laboratory work in the hospital centre around Nantes. This is the first chance I have had of writing you; I have often thought of Normal and you and all my old teachers there and surely wish I could see you. My wife and I had it planned to spend our vacation last summer at Bloom, but I was drafted in May and came across in August. But am going to try and get up this coming summer as I expect to be home again by then. I have not run across any Normalites over here although I have no doubt there are plenty here. I was expecting to meet some in the Mechanical branch but have not. Would it be too much trouble to send me a couple numbers of the Quarterly? I have not seen one for over a year now and am very much interested in Normal doings. My parents are now living at 112 N. south st. Philadelphia. Am sorry I must use these utensils of writing but it is all I can find at the present time. Remember me to everyone at Normal and tell them as soon as we have every weapon of war from Germany in our hands and she is thoroughly tamed the boys will be home. Yours very sincerely, Harold N. Cool. Pvt. Harold N. Cool. Army Co. 346 . United States Army. A.P.O. 767, France. Dr. D.J. Waller Jr. Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. B.S.N.S.
