Item Description
Transcript: Shamokin Dam, Pa. June 6, 1919. Bloomsburg Normal, Bloomsburg, Pa. Dear Sir: Having lost the card upon which in formation was desired regarding my part in the war, will try to furnish you as follows: Went to Camp Lee, Va., on July 24, 1918 having charge of 18 men from Snyder, Co. Remained there until the middle of September. Was made a sergeant there and held as training cadre. About the middle of September, was sent to the Central Officer’s Training School of Field Artillery at Camp Taylor, Ky. On my way to that place I met Earl Laughbau [Laubach], a Normal School mate of mine, we were in the same battery for a few weeks. Was moved from this battery to the 40th Training Battery and he to a different one and we saw no more of each other. Was discharged from this battery before completing the course. Since that time I have been married and at present am employed by the Sunbury Trust and Safe Deposit Co. of Sunbury, Pa. where I expect to make my future home. Hoping this will furnish the information required and wishing the school success, I am Yours truly, C. Merrill Boust.
