The refusal of Steve Nelson, one of the leaders of the Communist Party, to testify on atomic spying opens this edition of Counterattack.  Harlow Shapley, director of Harvard Observatory, is denounced by the newsletter for his support of communist fronts and Stalinist Russia.  The author also urges Chancellor Robert Hutchins of the University of Chicago to leave a front that Shapley recently formed.  Also, Counterattack attacks a proposed "Congress of Intellectuals" in the United States, which will be selected by communists.
