Art therapy and the use of parts work in the treatment of trauma-related dissociation:

This paper discusses some of the theories behind parts work such as Ego State Therapy and Structural Dissociation of the Personality. The use of Expressive Therapy Continuum (ETC) and the use of art therapy to treat trauma and complex trauma are further explored. The purpose of this paper is to explore how to incorporate art therapy and parts work into the treatment of trauma-related dissociation. This paper will explore a 12-session curriculum based on phase-oriented treatment approaches.
