PENNWEST ANNOUNCES BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAMS

Pennsylvania Western University Office of Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion has planned an array of programs to celebrate Black History
Month. The schedule will feature films, speakers, basketball tailgate
parties and various other activities.
The schedule will kick off Feb. 1 at PennWest Edinboro with a school
supplies drive to benefit Erie Juneteenth Celebration, which provides
supplies through its annual Back 2 School Jam. Throughout February,
the campus community is invited to contribute new or unused school
supplies appropriate for children in kindergarten through grade 12 in
the DEI Center in Pogue Student Center.
Additional activities occurring on all PennWest campuses are:

Feb. 7 and 14, Black History Month Movie Night, 5 p.m. in
California’s Vulcan Theatre, Clarion’s Suites on Main North
Theater, and Edinboro’s Scot Theatre; admission is free.
•
Feb. 20, African American Alumni Society Panel: 5 p.m.,
livestreamed on Pennwest YouTube
•
Feb. 21, “My Name is Pauli Murray” Film & Watch Party, 5 p.m.
in California Vulcan Theatre, Clarion Suites on Main North
Theater, Edinboro Scot Theatre
