Complex Performance Team By Laws
Complex Performance Team is Clarion University's Show Choir / Dance Team. This team has been
developed to bring Clarion students a new perspective on performance , entertainment and
musicianship. On this team members will get an understanding of performance as a whole. We do
dances from hip pop to contemporary as well as do special performances.
Article 2
Complex Performance Team is a dance team that caters to those who want more experience in
performing . Whether it’s dancing,singing or both . This is a show choir, musical theatre team . The
benefits of being apart of this team is being introduced to different styles of music and building the
body to catch on to things easily while building great stamina and health. People who aren't musical
theatre majors get to gain a taste of the musical theatre world and later take these skills with them to
maybe do auditions for things outside of Complex. People will love to join Complex because it's a
different option from the already known organizations and dance teams on campus. You also gain more
knowledge of the entertainment business with this group than any other team on campus. This team
allows everyone on it to get an opportunity to shine.
Article 3.
The qualifications to be apart of Complex is a 2.0 and above you must also be a student of Clarion
University . Meetings will be 3 times a week. Thursday-Saturday; 6:30-8:30 on Thursdays, on Fridays
3:00-5:00pm and on and Saturdays at 2:00-4:00pm. Members may ONLY miss practices if they notify the
President with an appropriate excuse and the same goes for tardiness. If you have no excuse or miss
practice without notifying the president in advance you will be put on probation. Probation for Complex
means you will not be able to perform in upcoming events or anything we do as a group until you get off
of probation. The extent of your probation is dependent on your president. Otherwise probation will last
until your grades improve if put probation for academic reasons. If a member is out on academic
probation they are REQUIRED to meet with their success coach at least TWICE every month. Every
member of Complex MUST complete at least three library hours per week and log their times in the
Complex binder. Complex will also have community service hours as well as put on fundraisers that all
members of Complex must attend! If you are unable to attend a fundraiser you MUST inform
the president two days ahead of not being able to attend. The only membership fee will be to provide
your own uniform unless otherwise stated that it will be taken care of. In the event that you are
disrespectful or do not show up to practice members may be dismissed.
Article 4.
Arnita and Brooklyn are the founders of Complex Performance Team. Moniqua Bumoskey is the
President, Jay Hayes is Vice President/Secretary, Stephanie Hamiel is Captain/Treasurer, Emili Goris is
Co-Captain/CuConnect Contact for Complex. The Advisor is Brian Hoover. The Advisor has the power to
allow us to perform at certain events and not to. He also signs off on anything Complex related. The
advisor does not get to vote people off the team unless discussed with board members.
Article 5
The Advisor is selected by their involvement with student relations and how involved with
entertainment on campus they are. The Advisor's job is to keep everything run smoothly with Complex
and things they're involved with on campus (paperwise). The advisor has the power to give advice and
advise the president with how to control the team on campus and off but does not have the power to
remove anyone from any positions on the board or on the team.
Article 6
There will be one actual sit down meeting per week that all board members MUST attend. During these
meetings we will discuss any upcoming events, ideas, issues that need resolved and come up with our
performance dances . Members must report to practice with all practice attire and equipment. If
majority of the team does not show up without letting the president know,everyone will be penalized.
The president or other board members conducts all rehearsals unless otherwise stated by the president.
The president is the only one who is able to call for a special meeting. Members will be notified by group
me about any changes.
Article 7
There will be no dues unless other wise stated by the president. Dues would be used toward trips and or
uniform attire. A budget will be requested from Student Senate.
Article 8
The by laws can not be changed unless it's due to a dangerous situation involving Clarion University and
their members. Any changes within the bylaws have to be voted upon before anything can be removed
and or added. The advisor is also able to change the by laws if there are any concerns.
Article 9
These ByLaws and its amendments, shall become effective upon ratification by the members of Complex
and following the approval of the student senate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, the vice
president for student & university affairs, and the president of Clarion University.
