CONSTITUTION OF KOINONIA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
AT CLARION UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA
Article I - Name
The name of the organization shall be Koinonia Christian Fellowship at Clarion University of
Pennsylvania. Herein called in abbreviation, Koinonia.
Article II - Purpose
1. To fulfill the needs of Christian Students at Clarion University of Pennsylvania by providing
an atmosphere of Christian worship and fellowship at weekly meetings, and also to equip the
students for service to each other, their communities, and the world. These goals shall be
accomplished in the following manner:
a. Weekly fellowship meetings will be held.
b. Students will lead music and coordinate speaking and teaching at weekly
fellowship meetings.
c. Students will personally direct and lead Bible studies and discussions.
d. Students will make themselves available to visit fellow students who have
expressed an interest in Koinonia.
e. Students will determine topics that benefit the other students on campus.
2. To assist any interested students in their spiritual, social, and/or emotional development. These
goals shall be accomplished in the following manner:
a. Students, regardless of religious beliefs, will be invited to attend weekend events
as a necessary alternative to the other forms of social life found on the college
campus.
b. Students will have the opportunity to attend various lectures and/or seminars
relating to the Christian viewpoint of many contemporary issues with which they
are often confronted.
c. Students will share the claims of Jesus Christ with fellow students on the campus
through different methods (such as individual visitation upon request, dorm
discussions, and Bible studies in their rooms and off-campus for interested
students).
Article III - Membership
There are no official requirements for membership in Koinonia Christian Fellowship. Any
student who wishes to attend any of the activities or events sponsored by Koinonia is more than
welcome, regardless of religious affiliation, etc. Membership is defined only in terms of personal
involvement and participation.
Article IV - The Executive Board
Section 1. The executive board of Koinonia Christian Fellowship, referred to as the Ministry
Team, shall be composed of no more than 12 members. They are directly involved in
the administration and organization of all events sponsored by Koinonia and will plan
all short and long range activities of the organization.
Section 2. The division of the responsibilities may change according to the needs of Koinonia
and the number of students on the Ministry Team.
A. Team Leader: The Team Leader oversees the Ministry Team and encourages
them to follow Koinonia’s purpose and vision and to accomplish its goals.
B. Administrative Coordinator: The Administrator Coordinator helps assure the
Ministry Team is running smoothly by providing attention to secretarial treasurer.
C. Outreach Coordinator: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing
opportunities for the students of Koinonia to participate in community service,
outreach, social events, and meetings. They will also encourage non-Ministry
team members to participate and be involved in the planning and execution of
these events.
A complete list of the current Ministry Team member titles and responsibilities is
available upon request.
Section 3. The Ministry Team members are selected by a Ministry Team Selection Committee.
The selection committee is made up of students who are not applying for the position,
such as outgoing seniors or transferring students, Campus Ministry Staff, and others
as deemed necessary. Students are selected for the Ministry Team from a pool of
applicants.
Section 4. Should a Ministry Team member resign, the Ministry Team may select another if
deemed necessary or appropriate.
Article V - Meetings
Section 1. Koinonia Christian Fellowship shall meet informally at least once a week for worship,
including singing, prayer, Bible teaching, and the mutual encouragement of fellow
students in their Christian life.
Section 2. The Ministry Team or their designee will determine other fellowship activities,
according to students’ needs and/or desires.

Article VI - Executive Meetings
Section 1. Meetings of the Ministry Team will be held at least once a month (at least four times
per semester).
Section 2. A Quorum is when at least 50% of the Ministry Team is present.
Section 3. A Majority consists of at least 51% of the Quorum.
Section 4. An informal atmosphere will be used unless otherwise determined by the president.
Article VII - Finances
Section 1. There are no dues for the organization.
Section 2. Other funds may be raised at the discretion of the Ministry Team for various expenses
and activities. Some funds may be requested from Student Senate.
Article VIII -Advisors
Section 1. There will be at least two advisors for Koinonia Christian Fellowship – one Clarion
University of Pennsylvania faculty/staff advisor, and at least one Campus Ministry
Staff advisor.
Section 2. The Faculty Advisor(s) will be in accord with the purpose of Koinonia, will be a
member of the Clarion University of Pennsylvania faculty, and will agree to serve in
an advisory capacity.
Section 3. The Campus Ministry Staff of Koinonia Christian Fellowship will serve in a pastoral
capacity to the Ministry Team. He/she/they will be responsible for assisting the
student members in the execution of their duties as outlined in the constitution.
He/she/they will also provide spiritual guidance to the group. The Community Board
and student representatives from Koinonia will appoint the Campus Ministry Staff.
Section 4. The Campus Ministry Staff will serve on the Community Board and the Ministry
Team.
Article IX - Amendments
Amendments to this constitution may be proposed to the Ministry Team. This team may adopt a
proposal only by at least a 2/3 vote, upon which the proposal shall be passed. The passed
amendment must then be submitted to the Student Senate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania,
who shall vote on it.
All changes to the bylaws must be approved by the Student Senate, the Vice President of Student
Affairs, and the President of Clarion University.

Article X – Ratification
These bylaws, and its amendments, shall become effective upon ratification by the members of
Koinonia Christian Fellowship and following the approval of the Student Senate of Clarion
University of Pennsylvania, the Vice President for Student and University Affairs, and the
President of Clarion University.
