LEV SUPPORT GROUP: POWERFUL BEYOND
MEASURE
POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE
For Clarion students who need a safe place to hear their voices heard and find
support amongst their peers.

OVERVIEW
LEV Support Group: Powerful Beyond Measure is pleased to submit this proposal for services to support Clarion
University of Pennsylvania students in achieving its goals for improving support amongst our group of peers. This
program is simply being put in place as a safe haven to students on Clarion’s campus to come and discuss various
issues, such as self-esteem, personal issues that may be plaguing us or to simply find a shoulder to cry on. The goal
is to lend support, empower and encourage the young men and women of this campus in the hopes that they will
know they are not alone.

The Objective
support group is to show Clarion students that no matter what they’ve been through, they are not alone. There
are a lot of young men and women who have gone through what they are going through or have made it out of
what they are going through and we are here to help pull that student through.
share their issues is because they feel no one cares to know or understands…this support group is here to
destroy that myth.
 not good enough.: Finally, I hope that by this Support Group being in place, it will empower young men and
women to live up to their full potential and the blessings God has put on their lives. >

The Opportunity

 empower themselves and each other. >

The Solution

 group tools for coping with various personal and academic issues.>
 one on one contact throughout the week.>

OUR PROPOSAL
Clarion University of Pennsylvania students often feel they are “suffering in silence.” A lot of us have been through or
are going through things but are afraid to reach out for fear that we’d be judged or misunderstood. I know because I
was one of them. When I was 18 years old, I was raped by a friend. I was so ashamed and hurt that I hid what had
happened to me. I thought that I would be ok and I would be able to function. Then I came to college. I was afraid to
be judged and misunderstood so I held it in. I eventually told my fiancé but still kept this fact from my family and
friends. Then, I began to lose it.
I felt like there was no hope for me and I was better off gone from this world. I finally broke down and told my
parents this year. I started counseling this summer and although I still deal with this pain, I am now not ashamed to
share my story and I realize that my story could help other young women, who I’ve personally communicated with on
this campus who have gone through or are going through the same things.
I realize that God has allowed me to be a survivor of many things so I can reach back and pull someone up
from their hurt and their pain. I realize God has blessed me to use me as a blessing and I would be remised if I didn’t
reach back and help pull my brothers and sisters up from drowning. I tend to be a blessing to others just as others
were a blessing to me.
I simply want to show the young men and women on this campus that they are not alone. I want to show
them that no matter what they’ve been through or what they’re going through that God is with them and most
importantly, they do not have to suffer in silence. I want to offer a judgement free zone where people are able to
come and vent, cry, share, empower, encourage and inspire one another. More importantly, I want to give someone
else the tools and encouragement to continue this support group when I leave.

EXPECTED RESULTS
We expect our proposed solution to Clarion University of Pennsylvania students’ requirements to provide the
following results:

Personal Benefits
   need to be lifted

CONCLUSION
We look forward to working with Clarion University of Pennsylvania students to improve the mindset and overall wellbeing of our youth. I pray that you will consider this program and I have your full support.
To conclude this proposal, I want to leave you with what I hope will be the Mission Statement of this support group
and that Mission Statement is a quote by Marianne Wilson that simply states: “Our deepest fear is not that we are
inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…”
Thank you for your consideration,
