A professional attire and interview competition
Presented by the Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon
Co-sponsored by the Career Services Center
Explanation of Event: This event is a competition to see what RSO/RUO sponsored students are the most
professionally prepared with regard to their resume, attire, interview and elevator
speech. The event will take place in Gemmell MPR on Thursday, February 27, 2014 (time TBD).
At the end of the evening there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner.
Sponsorship: To enter into this competition a student must have an RSO/RUO sponsor them. The cost to
the sponsoring organization will be $20 per individual sponsored, and there is not a limit on how many
people an organization can sponsor. Checks may be made payable to Sigma Phi Epsilon – Clarion SEC.
How to Register:
Submit a resume to resumes@clarion.edu , by December 13, 2013.
Submit Basic Application and $20 payment to SigEp Gemmell RSO Box 14 by December 13, 2013.
o The $20 payment is non-refundable.
Process of the Event:
Round 1: Contestants are judged on first impression, elevator speech along with the previously
judged resume score
Round 2: Judged on attire
Round 3: Judged on interview (The top three combined scores will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
Judging Criteria:
All rounds of competition are judged on a 1 to 10 scale
Resume: Clarity, content and organization (Judged by real employers)
First Impression: Charisma, poise and confidence
Elevator Speech: Articulation, effectiveness and confidence
Attire: Maturity, fit, and overall appearance
Interview: Fluidity, concise, clear
Additional Information:
Proceeds benefit The Big Brothers Big Sisters
Winning organization receives $100
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive prizes for use in their professional career.
Questions and concerns can be directed to a SigEp brother or sigep@clarion.edu.
Students are encouraged to visit the Career Services Center in preparation for the event.
