Student Athletic Training Club Constitution/By Laws
Article I: The name of our club is the Student Athletic Training Club. Which can also be called the ATC
Article II: All members of this club include the ATS (athletic training students) of Clarion. The advisor of
our club is the Head Athletic Trainer at Clarion University of PA, which is Jim Thornton.
Article III: As a recognized Student Organization the goal of our club is to raise money for the event
known as EATA. If we can raise enough money, hopefully in the future we can be able to fundraise to
pay for other things such as our clothes, the seniors BOCs, etc.
Article IV: Elections/Positions
-Elections are held once every year for the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President. They are
voted for by all of the Athletic Training Students. The form of voting is by ballot voting. The Advisor Jim
Thornton, or one of the other Certified Athletic Trainers will be responsible for counting the votes.
President- Responsible for holding/scheduling meetings, helping the group come together on decisions,
and being a role model for the rest of the ATS.
VP- Helps President with all their specific duties and fundraiser ideas. Helps President and Athletic
Training Students Succeed.
Secretary- Keep’s documentation of all the meetings and ideas shared by everyone in the club. Keeps
documentation on what the group votes on, or objects to throughout the meetings as well.
Treasurer- In charge of the budget, and expenses spent by the Athletic Training Club. Keeps well
documentation of the fundraisers.
Article V: If the Athletic Training student holding one of the positions drops out of school or no longer
attends school, at the next meeting re-election for that position will be held.
Article VI: Attendance -Is mandatory. It is important that all students in our club be up to date on our
ideas, and fundraisers. This club also is for students in Athletic Training to come to each other for
guidance, and help.
Article VII: EATA- WILL ALWAYS BE FUNDRAISED FOR. Every year juniors and seniors are encouraged to
go. It is important to build connections with Certified Athletic Trainers that attend this conference. EATA
needs fundraised for:

Rooms- depending on how many athletic training students attending each year, we will need to
accommodate rooms for the trip.
Food- Enough money should be fundraised to help pay for the food on this trip.
Registration- Each year it is usually 80.00 for an Athletic Training Student to register for EATA.
Plane Ticket/Gas Money- Every year the location of EATA changes so we should fundraise for
whether we drive or fly to EATA.

*Reimbursement will only be given to sophomores IF enough money is raised. This reason is because
seniors and juniors are more educated on what athletic training is, and has the best chance to make
connections with ATC’s at the conference.
