TRMC Meeting Minutes
❖ Journal Club
➢ Christian Schill presenting February 1st
➢ RJ afterwards
➢ Bring your favorite pizza and/or Chartwells
❖ Opioid Symposium
➢ 3 out of 5 speakers booked
➢ Chuck has a contact in governor’s office for a potential speaker
➢ Lunch with Health Career’s Club needs figured out
▪ HCC has lots of money to share. HCC said they will pay for half of lunch.
❖ Flu Basket Fundraiser
➢ Raised $80 for flu supplies for S.A.F.E shelter
➢ Thank you to those who donated items!
➢ Maeve figuring out when we can drop off the stuffs
➢ Sami has letter ready to send to local businesses asking for donations
Lab Business
❖ Lab bench by Noodles the Panda
➢ Now belongs to Dias Lab
➢ Help clean out that area
❖ Need to work on lab clean up
➢ Put things back
➢ Clean off counters
➢ Keeps things clean and sterile
➢ Friday 1/25 is lab cleanup day at 3pm
▪ Dr. Smith remembers clean up attendees for rec letters
❖ Cell Culture
➢ Moving out of 303B and into 303C so that Dr. Dias can have other hood (303B)
➢ Don’t put cell cultures in incubator yet (mold contamination)
➢ Bacterial Incubator contents has been moved to brown incubator as bacterial one is broken
➢ Everything is breaking because about 11 years ago we but everything all at once.
❖ Rat Room
➢ Many rats! Please use them
➢ 12-15 of each sex
➢ A couple of rats (old age) and one mouse (toxoplasmosis) died over the break
➢ Balb-C’s are too inbred so we can’t breed anymore
▪ Keep 2 for summer class
❖ Micro = good, thank you!!
❖ Wait to thaw cells until incubators are up and running!
❖ CPUB is Saturday April 13th!!!
❖ CUP symposium is April 11th
