o Submit abstract for poster 1 month prior GET ON IT
o Posters must be submitted 2 weeks prior
o You can find travel grant for the transport.
▪ Grants are due 4 weeks before. NO LATER THAN MARCH 7th!!!
▪ Grants found on Clarion.edu – Search “travel grant”
Projects
HSC – Researching methods of pluripotent stem cell differentiation. Exploring the types of cells
that differentiate through different environments and properties of cell. Meeting 10 am Sunday
for Disection
Bd – Researching the detection of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (pathogenic fungus that’s
deadly to amphibians) via Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA kit). Sensitizing kit to
appropriate detection rate and level is the current exploration Meeting 9 am Saturday
Annexin-1 – Works with HL60’s which turn into neutrophils and macrophages to use
with/without calcium, examining its response to annexin-1 tag. Future exploration with annexin1 against cancer cells.
Compound I – Application of a compound that inhibits biofilm growth in contact lens. Future
implication into plastics for biofilm free medical use.
Acetaminophen – Testing the toxicity effects of acetaminophen (Tylenol) on mammalian/neural
cell lines to explore possibility of implicating in anesthesia. Following HSC dissection Sunday
Compound P – Isolate and Identify unknown antimicrobial activity found in human urine.
Explores different purification and isolation methods and plan to identify the compound
properties. Saturday 10 am - distillation
BTV – Research mutants of virus to test causes of it’s virulent. Uses the lethal apoptotic effects
on mammalian cells to help identify possible genes being expressed/silenced.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

All other members have access to view.
OPTIONAL: Its suggested to have several forms of SOP’s to avoid loss or confusion. Paper, digital,
