COACHING STAFF
DR. LOUIS MINGRONE is
the head coach of the newest
varsity team at Bloomsburg
State College. The s9ccer team
will enter into its first year of.
varsity competition in 1975.
Mingrone, a Dormont, Penn- ,
sylvania native, received his degrees from
Slippery Rock State College (where he
lettered in soccer), Ohio University, and
Washington State University. He is a
professor of Biology. This is Mingrone's first
role as a coach of a varsity sport.
Assisting with the coaching
duties will be JOHN SERFF,
Jr. A native of State College,
Pennsylvania, Serff received
his degrees from Pe·nnsylvania
State University (where he
played soccer), and West
Chester State College. He is an Assistant
Professor of Geography. Serff was head
soccer coach for seven years at Henderson
Senior High School in West Chester prior to
coming to Bloomsburg.

OUTLOOK
With tnis, the first year of varsity
competition in over twenty years, BSC wiH
be building a squad that hopefully will soon
make its presence felt in the conference. The
plan is to blend a group of twenty-six
returning veterans (from last year's team)
and twenty-seven tentative freshman candidates into a competitive and representative
unit.
Coach Mingrone states, "For our first year
we have a strong schedule with some of the
perennial soccer powers in the eastern part

of the country. The squad will be young but
deep in talent and experience as the
freshmen entering BSC in September are an
outstanding group of candidates."
The Huskies look forward to an exciting
year and should give a good account of
themselves.
