CROSS COUNTRY
1972
SENIOR TERRY LEE
INFORMATION
ON THE
"Husliies"
OUTLOOK
Coach Noble has indicated the 1972 prospects
are somewhat vague at the present time due to a crop
of rather inexperienced runners. The only returning
runner from last year's top five Huskies is senior
Terry Lee.
Lost from . last year's aggregation are: Tim
Waechter, Larry Strohl, Charles Graham, • Rod
Dewing, and Paul Pelletier.
Lee will probably get the most support from
sophomores Mike Hipple and Bart Grimm and junior
Bob Ouairoli. The balance of the top spots will be up
for grabs. Vying for these positions are: juniors Rick
Van Horn and Rick Eckersley, sophomores Don
Nauss and Dale Alexander, along with freshmen Bert
Keller, David Orgler, and Bob Smith.
With such a young, inexperienced squad,
Noble's charges will have to put out their very best
to equal or top last year's 6-4 record.
COACH
DR. CL YOE NOBLE took
over the helm of the BSC cross
country team just prior to the start
of the 1968 season and posted a
3-5 record. The next two years his
teams established the best cross
country records in the history of
the college (11-1 and 10-1). Last
year the Huskies were 6-4.
A native of Rockford, Illinois,
Noble received his Bachelor of Arts degree from
Grinnel College, Iowa, and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Hawaii. He has
taken additional graduate studies at Carnegie Institute
of Technology in Pittsburgh.
In high school Noble earned four letters in
track, three in basketball, and two in football. He
was also a member of the track team at Grinnell
College.
Noble's interest in all sports and his knowledge
of running provides the Huskies with a definite asset
to go for the fourth winning season in a row.
