Junior Dave Cichan-1978 Team Medalist.

GOLF
1979

OUTLOOK
All indications point to a marked improvement
of the 1979 Husky golf edition over last year's 6-5
team.
Coach Bob Reeder has returning veterans
junior Dave Cichan (1978 team medalist), senior
Allen Ruffner (match medalist twice last year),
senior James Dalton, sophomore Keith Walz and
senior Kevin Smith. An especially strong rookie
group includes Eric McKee, Joe Roeder, John
Labosky, Dave Ogden, Mike Miller, Sam Rubbico
and Kevin Lemaire.
"The veterans have been working hard on their
games during the past year, and most of the
newcomers have had excellent high school
experience," Reeder states. "We're all anxious for
a good season."
For the first time, the Huskies got an early start
on the links by going south during the spring
break to play at Murtle Beach, South Carolina.

HEAD COACH
Robert Reeder, an associate professor in the
Anthropology Department
of Bloomsburg State College, is in his second year
as head golf coach.
Reeder's golf experience
is evident from his championship flight performances
at nearby Frosty Valley
Country Club. Prior to joining Frosty Valley, he was a
low handicapper as a member of the Berwick Golf Club.
Before joining the BSC faculty in 1968, Reeder
spent a year teaching at Lehigh University. He
previously taught at Grove City College and
Western Kentucky University. He earned both his
bachelor's and master's degrees at the Pennsylvania State University. In addition, Reeder has
earned a Master of Arts degree in anthropology
from the University of Colorado.
Reeder is a member of the American Anthropology Association and the American Sociological Association. He is married to the former
Florence Wynne of Canton, Pennsylvania and has
three children-Cathy, age 18, Robbie, age 17,
and Laurie, age 14.
