INFORMATION
On The
HUSKIES
OUTLOOK
Although the Husky stickmen are a young team comprised primarily of freshmen and sophomores, they
expect to be competitive!
Coach Mike Herbert states, "Perhaps it might be
applying too much pressure on some of our youngest
members but I'm anticipating that freshmen Mark
Pringle (Williamsport) and Mark Fallon (Carbondale)
along with sophomore David Suitch (Weatherly) will
provide us with a fairly strong nucleus." Returning
letterman Tom Brown, a junior from Bloomsburg who
was a District IV champion in 1972, and sophomore
Ted Radcliffe (Collegeville) should complement the
trio and provide five respectable performers. Two
other strong candidates are freshmen Dave Allibone
(Doylestown) and Dave Kirchdoerfer (Rock Glen).
"It should be an interesting season, and I'm
certain we will better last year's 1-6 record," Herbert
points out. "However, to be perfectly frank, .C.m not
only looking forward to testing our current players but
I'm eagerly looking forward to future seasons, as we
have a promising group of players entering BSC in
September. Hopefully, we will soon make our
presence felt in the conference competition."
COACH
Dr. Michael Herbert is the new BSC
golf coach. He is a former Husky
tennis and cross country coach, and
has been an assistant in the basketball
program for ten years. An active
golfer, he will now contribute his
knowledge and experience to the BSC
golf program.
Herbert, a Lansford native, received his degrees
from the University of Maryland and Lehigh
University. He is a professor of Biology.
