Bloomsburg Players Production Files, 1955-2001
Production files are given for mainstage or public performances of the Bloomsburg
University players. Few are before 1962, with only including a program and publicity
announcement. Files can include any of the following: Programs from the event, publicity
requests for school related organizations, tryout posters, headshots, newspaper clippings,
(Maroon and Gold, Morning Press, Bucknell World). Few include: Costume receipts, box
office records, thank you notes (from audience groups, summer guest artists), set design
renderings, scripts. For some of the late 1980s and early 1990s there are postcards for
publicity that match the poster/program.
Box 1:
Bloomsburg University Players Production Files
March 1955- June 1974
Starting with the March Production of “Lo and Behold!” in 1955 and ending with
summer show “Dracula” in 1974. The bulk of the collection starts after 1962 “What
Every Women Knows”.
Box 2:
Bloomsburg University Players Production Files
August 1974 – November 1985
From “To true to be Good” in August of 1974 through the 1985 production, “The near
Sighted Knight and the Far Sighted Dragon.” There are about six production folders per
year.
Box 3:

February 1986 – April 2001
Starts with the 1986 production of “The Miracle Worker” and ends with April 2001
“Romeo and Juliet.” Also includes 2 production folders that do not have a date and a
folder of scenes from 9 different scripts that could have been used at an audition event.
The Bulk of the collection is up to 89 and included 3 production binder contents
including blocking notes from rehearsal and stage manager scripts.
Production binder contents include:
“An Evening of one Acts” October, 1987
“Death Trap” July, 1988
“The Royal Family” February, 1989
