nancial reach of young people who might otherwise be unable to realize it.

HISTORY:
Edinboro State College was granted authority to establish an Off-Campus Center
in Warren in September of 1962. During 1962 and 1963 classes were held in the Warren
Area High School. In 1964, activities were moved to the former East Street Elementary
School building at the corner of East Street and Third Avenue. A permanent, full-time,
resident Director was assigned to administrate the program.
Interested educators and civic-minded citizens of the Warren area formed an
organization called "Warren Higher Education, Inc " to work cooperatively with the
Administrators and Board of Trustees of Edinboro State College in determining and
expediting the needs of higher education in this community.

The administration of Edinboro believes that the individual academic needs of
young Pennsylvanians can b- met best by the establishment and maintenance of OffCampus Centers and, thereby, the general welfare of the state will profit. Additional
services are being considered as the needs arise.

OBJECTIVES:
The primary objective of the Warren Campus is to make available a general
education at the freshmen and sophomore levels to qualified high school graduates
of the Warren Area.
Further objectives are;
(1)

to provide opportunity for the students to secure a reasonable understand­

ing and appreciation of contributions of creative minds and of human experiences'

FACULTY:
Members of the teaching staff of Warren Campus are full-time faculty personnel
of Edinboro State College. In addition to a resident Director, new resident faculty
members are joining the staff of the Warren Campus regularly as student enrollment
increases.

BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT:
The Warren Campus Building is located in Warren, Pennsylvania at the corner
of Third Avenue and East Street and includes five classrooms, a science laboratory,

Admission requirements for enrollment at the Warren Campus are the same as

the enrollment of the Center necessitates new quarters. All rooms of the Warren
Campus Building are adequately equipped with more up-to-date facilities being pro­
vided constantly to meet growing needs.

LIBRARY:
An attractive library on the second floor of the Warren Campus Building pro­
vides an excellent opportunity for students to obtain the latest in reference and
source materials for their individual academic requirements. The atmosphere of the

library is quiet and conducive to study. One experienced librarian and two student
assistants are on duty approximately thirty hours weekly to assist students in uti­
lizing the resources of the library. Edinboro State College makes generous alloca­
tions of funds annually for the acquisition of books.
