BORO NEWS & NOTES
* Edinboro has lost two of its last three
matches, both by shutouts. However, the
Fighting Scots are still 9-6-1 and tied for
fifth in the latest Northeast Region rank
ings. The Fighting scots conclude the
2003 regular season with three straight
home matches, beginning with the
Clarion contest.
* Senior Jamie Tekotte has set season
records for goals scored (14) and points
(32). Tekotte and Stacey Oldenburg have
combined for well over half of Edinboro’s
37 goals. Oldenburg has 9 goals and 3
assists for 21 points. No one else has
more than 2 goals.
LAST MEETING;
* Edinboro handed Clarion a 2-1 set
back last October. The Golden Eagles
nearly pulled off the upset, scoring first
on a goal by Alisha Turner at the 51
minute mark. Amy Jeffries knotted the
match at 1-1 at the 76 minute mark, and
Stacey Oldenburg won the match at the
85 minute mark.
TODAY’S OPPONENT:
* Clarion University brings a 3-10-0
record into the match. The Golden
Eagles have lost their last six matches,
scoring just one goal. In fact, they have
been shut out the last five contests. Over
the last six matches they have been
outscored 22-1. Clarion’s wins are over
Geneva, Davis & Elkins, and Seton Hill.
* Ashley Francis is the team's leading
scorer with 4 goals for 8 points. Ashlie
Regazzi and Alisha Turner have added 3
goals apiece.
