Its biggest function of the year iS'
the sponsoring of the Homocoming Dance, whicn this
year will be held October 12.
The ’»E” Club also
handles the refroshomnt stand at all homo football
gomes.

Louis Penna, Treasurer; and Richard Dixon, Secretary.

Jim hails from Central Catholic High School,
in Pittsburgh, whoro ho played^for throe
yoars in tho quarterback position.

in football, working for tho quarterback
slot.
Jim is a popular member of the Kappa
Delta Phi Fraternity.

LaTempa, Henry

Age 22; Height 5*10”; Weight 195 lbs. Senior.
Hank played ce-cer for Neville Island High
School, in Pittsburgh for four years.
He
also played baseball and basketball while
there.
He entered E* S. T. G* in 1947 and
lettered that year in the tackle slot.
He
also lettered in s-//iirii'.ing that year.
After
being away from us since that time, he is
back again raring to go.
Hank is vice
president of the Senior Class. ■

Lodge, Charles

Age 20; Height 5*11”; Weight 185 lbs. Senior.
Chuck hails form Aspinwall High School where
he played four years of football in the center
slot.
He was captain of nis squad.
He also
played baseball while there.
Here at E.S.T.C.
Chuck is going into his fourth year of football
playing either the center or the fullback
position.
He also has three years of track
to his credit.
He is a member of the Kappa
Delta Phi Fraternity, ..president of E-Club,
Senior Class president, and Student Council
vice-president.
His presence is an in­
spiration to his team-mates.

Malarkey, Donald

Age 21; Height 5*10^”; Weight 170 lbs. Senior.
Don played center of the Chartiers High School
football team in Meadov/land, Pa. for four
years.
He also participated in v^restling
while there.
Here at E. S. T. C. Don has
three years of football to his credit, plus
three years of wrestling.
He is a member of
the Kappa Delta Phi Fraternity and is the
vice-president of the S-Glub.
He took first
place in the Great Lakes Wrestling Tournament
in Erie.

Malicky, John

Age 24; Height 5’9j”; Weight 175 lbs. Senior.
John comes to us from Elsworth, Pa., High
School where he played four years of football
as a tackle.
Basketball was another of his
stellar high school sports.
This is John’s
second year out for the squad at E.S.T.C.
and he is Vv’orking for a halfback slot.

Miller, Harry

Age 20; Height 5*9”; Weight 150 lbs. Soph.
Harry hails from Lincoln High School in Ellwood
City, Pa., where he played four years of
football as an end and quarterback.
He also
played baseball wTaile there.
This is his
second year at E. S. T. C.

Chuck hails from East High School, in Erie
v/here he played three years in the right half­
back slot.
He also participated in track and
basketball there.

Skelton, Fred

Fred played in the backfield for Edinboro High
School football team for four years.
He also
played on the basketball team.

Fred is going into his third year at fullback.
He also plays basketball and is a member of the
E-Club.

Smittle, George

Age 21; Height 5*10’*; Weight 170 lbs. Senior.
George hails from. New Kensington, whore he
played for three years at right end for the
xiign school football team.
For E.S.T.C. George
has three years in the
end slot and is gunning
for his fourth.
He is a member of the Kappa
Delta phi Fraternity and chaplain of the Theta
Chapter, and is also,
member of the E-Club.

Age 21; Height 5*10”; Weight 185 lbs; Senior.
Bill hails from Glades Mills, Pa., where he
played three years in the gu'^'d slot for
Mars High School.
He also played two years
of basketball while there.
Here at S.S.T.C.
Bill is going into his third year at the
guard slot.
He is a member of the wrestling
taam and the S-Club.

Dave hails from Aspinv/all High School where
he played two years in the end position on
the football squad, ’ He also played basketball
and baseball while there.
This is Dave’s se­
cond year here at S. S. T. C.

Winton, Douglas

Ago 19; Haight 6*4”; Weight 185 lbs. Junior'.
Doug played the end position for Millcroek
High School for one year.
Basketball was
his other major sport while there.
Here at
E.S.T.C. Doug is beginning his second year
on our team as a center.

PROMISING PROSPECTS

Baker, James

Height 5*8”; Weight 160 lbs. Freshman
A graduate of Springdale High School, Jim is
a sturdy guard and shows much promise.
Jim
played two years at Springdale High School
where his record was very creditable.

Bianco, Carmen

Height 5’7”; Weight 205 lbs. Freshman.
Carmen played four years football at Strong
Vincent where he made a reputable mame for
himself.
In his Senior year he was chosen
on the all city team and also captained the
west team in the Lions* Club All Star Game.
Carmen also participated in track at
Strong Vincent.

Canales, Manuel

Height 5*10”; Weight 195 lbs. Freahman.
*’Mandy” is a North East boy with experience
as a tackle on the 1949 team.
His presence may
bolster the forward wall which was much
weakened through graduation.

Connelly, Henry

Height 5.11”; Weight 195 lbs. Senior.
Pat is a transfer student from Alliance.
In
three years at Alliance, Pat held quite a
reputation for himself.
His ruggedness should
bother many of Edinboro*s opponents this
season.
He also has the markings of a good
pass reciever.

Conley, Bernard

Height 5*10”; Weight 170 lbs. Freshman,
Sonney hails from the **Power City” of Springdale.
l^Hiile attending S.H.S., he played
football and basketball his last two years.
With the ability to either receive passes or
play at the pivot post, ho should be a good
utility man.

Dioarlo, James

Height 5*9”; Weight 165 lbs. Sophomore.
Jim hails from Lockport, N. Y., where he
won his laurels as a broad jumper and a basket­
ball player.
Here at Sdinboro he is trying
his hand at football.
He is a halfback with
a good eye for grabbing passes.

Federoff, Timothy

Height 5*11”; Weight 180 lbs. Junior.
Tim is well known around campus for his
excellent swimming ability, but this year Tim
is trying out for football.
Although green
at the tackle slot, Tim shows very much
promise, and may prove to be an able defensive
tackle.

Mallory, RoycG

Height 5»11”; Weight 200 lbs. Freshman.
Royce is a very promising athlete, having
graduated from Edinboro High School with
many athletic acclaims.
His presence in the
line will prove very helpful.
He is very
fast and quick to learn.

McBrido, John

Height 5»10»»; Weight 150 lbs. Junior.
Johnny hails from Aliquippa.^ This is his ,
first year of football at Edinboro, although
he has won much acclaim on the cinder track,
rio is one of the most celebrated quarter
milers in the district.^ His speed should
help the Red Raiders this season.
John is v?
also a basketball player at Edinboro.

Shesman, Joseph

Height 5*10”; W^eight 170 lbs. Freshman.
A Freshman from Grove City, Smoky served
two years at end for his Alma Mater.
His
ability to catch passes will help the Red
Raiders in the near future.

Sopchak, William

Height 5*11”; Weight 155 lbs. Junior.
Wild Bill, as he is called by his buddies, is
attempting football for the first time in
college,
na hails from Stowe Township, and
is weill known for his wonderful spirit and
drive on the basketball court.
If he keeps
up the good spirit, it will prove a terrific
bolster to the team.
