while giving up just 60.8 ppg. Opponents are
shooting just 34.4 percent from the floor while
committing 24.6 turnovers per contest. In
addition, the Scots hold a 9.7 margin on the boards... four players are scoring in double digits, led by junior Marin Hightower. The 6’1”
fonward continues to put up big numbers, averaging 21.2 ppg,. and 8.9 rpg. She dropped in 29 points and had 15 rebounds in the win
at Daemen. Hightower is shooting 60.9 percent from the floor... Hightower receives ample inside support from center Kelli Torboli, a
6’0” senior who previously played at Callfomia(Pa.). Now in her first season with the Scots, Torboli is averaging a double double, with
11.2 ppg. and 10.3 rpg. She owns a team-high 18 blocked shots, and is tied for second in steals (20)... Jessica Rowe and Meghan
Miiler form the Boro backcourt, with Rowe averaging 13.7 ppg. and Miller 10.8. Miller stands 12th in career scoring with 1,251 points,
while Rowe should join the 1,000-point dub against Binghamton, need
ing just nine markers. Miller, a senior, is tops in assists (36), steals (25)
and three-pointers (19 of 48). In fact, she is fifth in career assists (376),
third in career steals (250) and first in career three-pointers made (194).
Rowe, meanwhile, is a junior who stands second to Miller in all three
categories, with 33 assists, 20 steals and 15 three’s in 33 attempts ...

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS: Laurie Trow is in her first sea
son as the head coach at Binghamton University, and while taking
over a team which finished 22-3 a year ago, she has done an
exceptional job as the Colonials play their first season as an NCAA
Division II member. Binghamton was selected for the Division III
Playoffs the previous four years. Trow is in her first season as a
head coach, but is recognized as one of the greatest players ever
on the Division III level. She was a three-time Kodak All-American
and was voted the WBCA Player of the Year in 1992-93 while at
St. Thomas(MN). In all, she scored 2,607 points and grabbed
1,204 rebounds ... Trow’s team has put up some impressive num
bers in its own right while getting off to an 8-0 start. Most notable,
just three of those contests have been at home. The Colonials
score at a 75.9 ppg. clip, while giving up a stingy 52.4 ppg. Not
one opponent has been able to score more than 66 points, and the
Colonials have held four foes under 50 markers. Opponents are
shooting just 31.8 percent from the floor, and have faced a huge
14.1 rebounding defidt. And the Colonials have made more free
throws (144) than opponents have attempted (139). Finally, it is a
young outfit, with six freshmen and two sophomores on the roster.
Both sophomores and a freshman occupy starting roles ... three
Colonials average in double figures, with Bess Greenberg leading
the way. The 5’8” sophomore averages 19.4 ppg., having led the
team in scoring six times.
Greenberg was the team’s leading
scorer as a freshman. She is shooting 50.0 percent from the floor,
and is the top three-point threat with 12 in 32 tries, while adding 23

rebounding (434). The 5’H” forward is shooting a sizzling 59.3
percent from the floor and 83.3 percent (20 of 24) from the line ...
the third double digit operative is freshman Leah Truncale, a 5’10”
forward. Truncale not only averages 12.5 points, but is the
Colonials’ top rebounder at 8.5 per game. She is another efficient
shooter, hitting at 50.7 percent from the floor and 88.2 percent (30
of 34) from the charity stripe... senior Maryanne Prendergast and
sophomore Kim Shaw, a pair of guards, complete the starting five.
Prendergast is the lone senior on the team, averaging 3.9 ppg. and
5.1 rpg. Shaw comes in at 6.9 ppg. and 4.4 rpg., but she has
dished out a team-high 36 assists, along with accumulating 18
steals... the bench showcases a pair of freshmen. Sarah Cartmill
is a 5’10” forward who is averaging 8.8 ppg. and 4.8 rpg., and has
made 31 of 35 free throws (88.6 perecent). Brooke Kelly, also a
5’10” forward, shows averages of 3.8 ppg. and 4.8 rpg.

while giving up just 60.8 ppg.
