The Edinboro University women's basket­
ball team looks to build on Wednesday's 8966 win over Clarion in an important PSAC
West battle. The Fighting Scots are 11-5
overall and 1-1 in the PSAC West.
Shippensburg enters today's game with a
13-2 record overall and a 2-0 ledger in the
conference.

The Lady Raiders have won four straight
games in this heated rivalry, including three
contests last season. Shippensburg swept
Edinboro in the PSAC West regular season
and ended the Fighting Scots' year with a
90-76 win in the opening round of the PSAC
Tournament.

Staa Swank is in his 14th season at the helm
of the Fighting Scot program. The recordholder for career wins at Edinboro, Swank
shows an overall mark of 236-145. He has
guided the Fighting Scots to eight PSAC
Tournaments, including four in the last five
seasons, along with five NCAA Division II

Edinboro snapped out of a six-game shoot­
ing funk to register a 89-66 win over Clarion
in its last outing ... the Fighting Scots shot
46.3 percent from the floor after shooting
just 34.9 percent In the previous six con­
tests ... KimVay, a 5'10" forward, remains a
fixture in the starting rotation, tallying four
double-doubles in the last five games ... in
the win over Clarion, she eclipsed her pre­
vious career-highs with a 37-point, 25rebound effort ... Vay is averaging 14.7
ppg. and 10.4 rpg., both team highs. She

Courtney Thompson, a 5'6" guard from
Girard High School, has started the last
three contests, tallying a season-high 14
points in the loss to Bloomsburg.
Thompson is averaging 4.1 ppg. with 38
assists ... Julie McNoes, a 5'6" defensive
specialist, rejoined the starting rotation
three games ago after starting several
games last season. McNees contributes 3.9
oints and 2.1 rebounds per game ...
ICbellO Crawl, a 5'9" wing player, registers
5.1 ppg. and 1.7 rpg... at 6'2" Arlona Winn
(3.6 ppg., 4.7 rpg.), a transfer from
Bethune-Cookman, provides size up front
... Swank continues to shuffle his lineup,
using a number of different combinations
off the bench as well as in the starting line­
up ... sophomore Krystal Hensan is now
coming off the bench after starting 12
straight contests. The 5'4" guard tallies
11.4 ppg. and leads the team with 52
assists. Henson snapped out of a fourgame slump with 19 points and 6 threepointers against Clarion ... Wendy Wiggins,
a 5'9" guard, has started 14 of the team's
16 games, averaging 10.3 ppg. with 49
assists ... KaUe Raymond, a 6'2" center, con­
tributes 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per
game. Raymond matched a career-high
with 14 points versus Clarion ... freshman
Megan nmer (5.8 ppg., 16 steals) sees time
in the backcourt ... first-year sophomore
Suzanne Petruska, a 5'10" walk-on, averages
2.7 ppg. and 2.4 rpg. .. Adann Williams, a

Senior Mm Vay erupted for a 37-point, 25rebound performance in the 89-66 win over
Clarion on Wednesday. Both totals sur­
passed her previous career-highs and
approached Edinboro single-game records.
Vay finished the night 12 of 16 from the
floor and 13 of 15 from the foul line. The
5'11" forward grabbed 12 of her 25
rebounds on the offensive end, while
adding four steals in the win.
