Edinboro hosts the 18th Annual Fighting
Scot Invitational this weekend. This year's
tournament features a new format in which
all of the game match-ups are predeter­
mined.

2000 TODRNAMENT RESULTS

The Fighting Scots return to the 2001
Fighting Scot Invitational as the defending
champions of last year's Fighting Scot
Invitational. Edinboro defeated Daemen in
the opening round for the second straight
year, 101-62, and St. Vincent dropped
Nyack in their first round contest 68-^1.
The Fighting Scots had no problem in the
championship game when they overcame
the Invitational's defending champion St.
Vincent 89-59. Krystal Henson, the tour­
nament Most Valuable Player led the Boro
with 12 and 19 points in the tournament.
Wendy Wiggins added 13 points in each
round and Kim Vay contributed 8 points
versus Daemen and 15 agianst St. Vincent
and 7 and 8 rebounds, respectively.

SCOUTING THE TUURNAMENT HELU

NUDONNA - The Crusaders should have no

problems traveling to Edinboro since they
have spent their first eight games on the
road. Posting a 5-4 record overall, the
Crusaders enter their fourth tournament of
the season, winning one of three so far in

the Cedan/ille Invitational... Senior Kathy
Pangaris leads the Crusaders with 19.7
ppg. while junior Lindsay Simmon adds
12.1 points and also leads the team on
the glass with 7.4 rebounds ... Mahogany
Fletcher contributes 7.67 ppg. and Tera
Morrill comes off the bench, scoring 7.6
ppg. ... the Crusaders played at Albion
College on Wednesday, and suffered a 6462 loss. Pangaris led all scorers with 22
points.

WAYNE STATE - In her first year at Wayne

State, Gloria Bradley will go up against her
alma mater, Seton Hill, in the opening
round of the Fighting Scot Invitational.
Bradley also coached at Seton Hill from
1985-87 ... After losing their season-open­
er to Central Michigan, the Warriors are on
a six-game winning streak. Wayne State
has outscored their opponents 512 ppg.
vs. 416 ppg. and force 24.9 turnovers per
game ... Junior forward Keneisha Moss
leads the Warriors with 18.4 ppg. and
junior Jessica King averages 9.1 ppg.,
shooting 37.5 percent from three-point
land (15-40). Senior guard/forward Kelly
Bitters averages an even 8.0 ppg. and
rpg. and sophomore Eboney Vincent
comes off the bench to contribute 7.4 ppg.

SETON HAL - Seton Hill opened its season

with five straight losses, all on its home
court, before claiming its first victory
against Walsh on November 30 ... The
Spirit fell to 1-6 on Wednesday, when it
lost to Ohio Dominican, 74-59 ... Junior
Kameico Robison leads the tournament
field, averaging 24.7 ppg. and 11.0 rpg.
The 5'10" junior poured in 31 points in the
win over Walsh. Stacey Jastrzembski
adds 14.2 ppg., while Mindy McClelland
rounds out the double-figure scorers with
11.7 ppg. Sophomore guard Kim Fore is
shooting 74.1 percent from beyond the arc
(10 of 14) and averages 7.3 ppg ... As a
team. The Spirit is shooting 42.6 percent
from three-point range, making 3.3 per
game ... Seton Hill turns the ball over 21.5
times per game.

IREAKIII! RECORDS AND CDASIIG MORE

Krystal Henson had a record-breaking per­
formance in the Scots' home-opener
against Columbia Union on Tuesday. The
junior drained 10 three-pointers, breaking
Megan Miller's previous record of 9 three's
in a game, set in 1997-98. The 5'4" guard
shot 10 of 16 from downtown, finishing
with a career-high 32 points. Henson has
made 16 three-pointers in the last two
games, connecting on 6 against Kutztown,
when she led the Scots to a come-frombehind win with 26 points. On the year, the
tri-captain is shooting 54.5 percent from
behind the arc (18 of 33) and averages 4.5
three-pointers per game. Henson stands
third in three-pointers made at Edinboro
with 128 and ranks fourth all-time in
attempts with 335. She has registered 555
points in her career at Edinboro.

The Fighting Scots are shooting 45.5 per­
cent from three-point range over the first
four games, averaging 8.8 three's per
game. Netting 35 of 77, the Boro has only
allowed 14 three's by their oppenents. Six
Scots are shooting at least 40 percent from
downtown. Krystal Henson leads the
Scots with 4.5 triples per game, shooting
54.5 percent, while Suzanne Petruska
and freshman Jodi Calderone each aver­
age 1.25 three's per game, shooting 45.5
percent. Edinboro hit 13 from behind the
arc against both Columbia Union and
Kutztown. Henson made 10 three's versus
Columbia Union and 6 against Kutztown.
Petruska hit 5 of 8 against Kutztown, after
previously going 0 for 3 for her career from

Sophomore Courtney Thompson directs
the Scots on the floor, contributing across
the board. The 5'6" point guard is scoring
7.2 ppg., but more importantly, averaging
4.8 assists. She also grabs 2.2 steals and
2.5 rebounds per game. She has appeared
at the foul line 15 times and has converted
11 for 73.3 percent. Thompson had 9
assists and 6 steals in the win over
Columbia Union.

A SPARK IN WIGGINS

Senior Wendy Wiggins was off to a slow
start, attempting only 12 shots in the first
three games, before going 6 of 9 from the
floor against Columbia Union. The 5'9"
guard/forward scored 16 points, reaching
double figures for the first time this season.
A Gannon transfer, Wiggins averaged 10.1
ppg. as a junior and now contributes 6.5
ppg. and is 4 of 10 from three-point range.

starts of the season, she tallied 12 points
against Kutztown and 13 versus Columbia
Union. The 5'8" forward ranks second on
the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg. The offen­
sive consistency is a product of a solid 62.9
percent from the floor (22 of 35). Crawl is
second on the glass with 5.0 rpg. and leads
the defensive effort with 11 steals.
