EDINBORO
'1ighting Scots"
R11cord: 8-6
Edinboro and Mansfield hook.up in a PSAC
crossover game before the Fighting Scots
return to the PSAC wars on Saturday at
Shippensburg. The Boro has won three of
its last four games following Monday's 8674 win at Ohio Valley College, and is now 86 overall. Mansfield has already tied last
year's win total when the Mountaineers finished 10-16. Despite losing four of its last
six games, Mansfield is 10-4.

THE BORO-MANSFIElD SERIES
Mansfield leads 11-8

Edinboro and Mansfield split two meetings
a year ago, with the Mountaineers capturing the first meeting at home, 91-88 in
overtime. The Scots returned the favor at
McComb Fieldhouse by a 71-59 count.

THE COACHES

Edinboro mentor Greg WalcaVlch is in his
11th season, posting a record of 191-107
during that period. The all-time leader in
coaching wins at Edinboro, Walcavich has
an overall career mark of 342-165 and is in
his 18th season as a head coach. Mansfield
mentor Vince Alexander is in his first season
at the helm of the Mountaineers after previously coaching at William Penn High
School in York, PA.

SCOUTING THE SCOTS
Edinboro recovered from Saturday's disheartening 79-76 loss to California(Pa.) to
capture an 86-74 win at Ohio Valley College
on Monday. KennvTate provided the impetus wioth a 25-point, 12-rebound effort in
just 25 minutes. Tate was one of four Scots
in double digits. Bob Schadt and James
Dlckersan posted season-highs with 12
points each, while Jean Paul dropped in 11
markers. Adam kallfman struggled with his
shooting, but contributed 11 assists and 3
steals. ·

KAUFMAN STill CllMBING

Junior point guard Adam Kallfman broke the
Boro career assist record earlier in the season, and is now climbing the PSAC career
assist chart. He owns 599 career assists,
good for sixth all-time. In addition, he is

SCHODT SCORES

It hasn't been an easy season for Rob

Schadt.

The 6'8" junior earned a starting
role the second half of last season, but has
seen limited action this year. He showed
signs of becoming a contributor at Ohio
Valley, making 5 of 7 field goals and 2 of 2
free throws for a season-high 12 points.

Mansfield jumped out to a quick 8-0 getaway and was ranked in the top 25 of the NABC
Division II poll. The Mountaineers have since lost four of their last six games, but to
some quality competition, including Gannon and West. Chester. First-year coach Vince
Alexander has already guided his team to as many wins as it had in '98-99, when the
Mountaineers finished 10-16 ... he's turned the trick with a lot of offense,, as the
Mountaineers lead the PSAC in scoring at 87.1 ppg. They have been held under SQ points
just four times ... the ringleader is TommvHamv, a quick senior who currently ranks second in career scoring with 1,539 points. The 5'9" guard has already set the school record
for career steals (248), and is tied for the career records both in three-pointers made
(217) and free throws made 9364). Harvey averages 17.6 ppg. with 75 assists and 47
steals. He has made 30 of 99 three's. Harvey is a three-time AII-PSAC honoree ... four
Mountaineers average in double figures, with Damar Lopez at 14.2 ppg. and a team-high
82 assists. Demonll'lc Daddies, a 6'6" forward who sat out '98-99 after starting 16 games
in '97-98, is next at 13.9 ppg., while Damaun Lepez contributes 11.7 ppg. with a teamleading 35 triples in 96 tries ... the top rebounder is AIUGIOdman, a 6'5" sophomore who
pulls down 5.5 boards to go with 8.8 ppg.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS

JC transfer KennvTate has registered sevendouble-doubles in his first 14 games as a
Fighting Scot. The 6'4" sophomore is the
only Scot to score in double figures in every
game, leading the team in both scoring
(19.2 ppg.) and rebounding (10.5 ppg.).
Freshman Jason Roseto is providing the
Scots with an intimidating presence in the
middle. The 6'10'~ 255 lb. center leads
Division II in blocked shots, now owning
56. That figure is ties Billy Wade for the
sixth-highest season total. He is becoming
more of a rebounder each time out, tying
his season-high with 10 vs. Clarion.
Overall, Roseto averages 6.5 rpg.
