Dear Dr. Marsh:

It has been
regarding the Kupper
probably remember, I
to receive prints of
ested.

somewhat over a year since
photographs which you were
returned a set to you with
certain of them in which I

I last heard from you
working on. As you
comments and was hoping
was especially interĀ

It was at about that same time that I read in the Harrisburg
paper of financial problems at Edinboro State, and I deduced that
could mean discontinuance of the Kupper project and even staff cuts,
I should like you to fill me in if possible.

Currently I am at work again on my second and last book the story of the traction system here in Cumberland County. I did a
paper for the local historical society on that subject back in 1966,
but have since that time exhumed much more from contemporary newspapers
in the State Library to fit the pieces together.
The long-planned extension to the trolley line in igg cellar
is finally under construction and should be in operation by year end,
but the scenery and necessary buildings will probably keep me occupied
for several years.
Still haven't tackled the Erie Traction (later Northwestern) box
motor which shows in several Kupper views and in photos which I had,
as there are apparent discrepancies. I keep hoping that another photo
may show up which will resolve these. Otherwise I will have to make some
assumptions and proceed on the basis of what I have. L'hen I have done this
in the past, the long-needed photo usually appears after I have the job
finished.

We're still enjoying retirement and although we do have a
rocking chair, I just haven't found time to use it yet.
We are still hoping that you and Mrs, Marsh will stop in
some time to see us.
With very best wishes.

Sincerely,
