Baseball History - Personal Interview
Q: What is your name?
A: Jonathan M. Fentress.
Q: What is your address?

A: October 12, 1994.

Q: What is your employment status at this moment. Are you working,
in school, or other?
A: I am currently enrolled at Slippery Rock University of P .A .. I
also work part time on the weekends for N.B.C. doing football games
in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
Q: So you are in school, what is your major.
A: Communication.

Q: What role have you played in the history of baseball in Western
P.A ..
A: I worked for the baseball network during the All-Star game this
past year and subsequently there after.
Q: How did you get this opportunity?
A: Through my internship at KDKA-TV2 in Pittsburgh.
Q: Explain some of the responsibilit ies that you had?
A: I coordinate smooth commercials, scoreboard and billboard spots
and network time correcting problems for the certain actors.
Q:Did you have any troubles with your responsibilities?
A: No,the people I worked with were very good and everything went

Q: What type of preconceptions did you bring with you to the
ballpark?
A: Truthfully not many. To me, I've seen enough to be prepared for
what

happen.

vastness

of

the

production and how serious people take it.

Did any of these hold true while you worked at Three Rivers?

A:Yes,

T.V. people put a lot of pressure on themselves to do the

best. Anything lee is not acceptable.
Q:

What in your opinion was the most fascinating aspect of your
experience?

A: Having a conversation on the future of baseball and the personal

physical stature of Bob Costas. Great Fun!

What did Bob Costas think about the future of baseball?

A: He said that the league needs to settle financial problems,they
are the most important in the near future.
Q:

Did you get to meet anyone famous that is involved with
baseball?

A: Bob Ueker, Jonny Bench, and Reggie Jackson.
Q: At the game was any records broken that could be of any interest
to me?
A: Frank Thomas' monster shot off the facade off the sixth level.
It was estimated at over 560 feet.
Q:

Would you like to do this type of thing again. Why or Why not?

A: Yes, It's exciting being around people that want to do the best
and also sports events are fun.
