interview:George Fellows(age 65)

operated a family farm on Old State Rd.since 45-46.Today 120 acres.
Milks about 25-26 cows and cuts and sells locust fence posts.Has
raised cabbage.

1. What does the future hold for the farmer with a son(s) who want
to farm the family's land.
2. What does it hold for the son(s).

3. What future for family farmer without interested son(s).
4. What is happening to the number of farms in the Edinboro area
5.1s farming today in this area a good living or a not so good
living.In particular,why is this so,

6. What part does the equipment or machinery story play.
(Fellows says he has gone through 5 combines and 5 hay bailers)

7. What positive impact will coming of steel mill have on area
farmers? What negative impact.
(Fellows sees possibility of new markets for some.)
8. With beef cattle available locally,why prices so high.Why not
more beef cattle herds.
