CU’s Partnership with Ferrilli to End April 30
Commonwealth University’s partnership with Ferrilli will come to an end on April 30. Ferrilli is the consulting firm
that was brought on board in May 2023 to help with the implementation of the Banner/OneSIS student
information system.
All faculty and staff who should take the available trainings, but have not done so yet, should do so by or before
April 30. After that date, live trainings with Ferrilli staff will no longer be available to CU employees. Trainings will
later be organized through the Registrar team and Brightspace.
Helpful materials that are now on Brightspace will continue to be available for faculty, staff and students after
April 30 and updated as appropriate.
Ferrilli is offering advising and registration open office hours through April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each
weekday through Zoom. You can also submit an IT issue through the issues log.

Applications Being Accepted for Service-Learning Program in Jamaica
Applications are now being accepted for the service-learning program to Jamaica, which will be offered Dec. 14-21
during the winter session. Students at all Commonwealth University locations and in all majors are welcome to

will be held on Tuesday, April 2, at 6 p.m. on Zoom.

DEI Holding Women’s History Month Donation Drive
DEI is looking for donations to support women and children. Donated items will support residents of the YWCA
Northcentral PA’s Wise Options. Wise Options provides refuge for survivors of violence in a safe and secure site.
Wise Options’ emergency shelter for victims of abuse is the only shelter of its kind in Lycoming County. In addition
to Wise Options, donated items will also be distributed to women and children during a community engagement
day that DEI is hosting in Williamsport on Thursday, March 28.
DEI is hopeful to have the following items donated: pillows/pillowcases, cookie sheets, diapers, children's books
and games, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, school supplies, baby supplies and new and slightly used
clothing. Donated items will be accepted at the following locations:

Career Connection Expos Set for Spring
Please alert your students to the following Career Connections Expos. In addition to being a convenient way to
network and find internships and jobs for third- and fourth-year students, expos are also great way for first- and
second-year students to explore careers, establish connections, and practice networking with potential employers.
Students can register on Handshake under “career fairs” and find toolkits, resume labs, coaching appointments
and more ways to prepare under “career center.” Students in need of professional attire can visit the Career Closet
on their respective campus.

Commonwealth to Host Radio Institute in May
CU-Bloomsburg will host the Confer Radio Talent Institute’s week-long course in May to prepare aspiring
broadcasters for a successful radio career. The Institute, made possible through the support of broadcaster Kerby
Confer, the Radio Advertising Bureau, and Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg, brings broadcast professionals
from around the country to teach students about every aspect of the industry, including on-air programming,
writing, news, sports, and sales. The Institute will be held from Monday, May 20, to Saturday, May 25. All college

Students from all Commonwealth campuses participated in the Seventh Annual Husky Dog Pound Competition on
Thursday, March 21. The Shark Tank-inspired business pitch competition hosted by the Zeigler College of Business
awarded $20,000 in prizes. Nearly 600 students from approximately 60 middle and high schools took part. The
university-level competition featured 11 teams made up of 17 students. University level winners were:

Alumna to Discuss ‘Breaking Through Barriers and Leading’

Renaissance Jamboree
The Renaissance Jamboree, a downtown Bloomsburg street festival, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Saturday, April 27, on Main Street, Bloomsburg. This event provides a chance for student organizations to spread
the word about their work and raise money for a cause. There is no booth fee for Bloomsburg student
organizations. There will be more than 100 crafters and 60 area non-profit organizations at the event. For more

The Commission for Gender and Sexuality will host its 15th Annual Reception on Friday, April 5, at 5 p.m. at the

The Friends of the Bloomsburg University Library Association (FOBULA) will hold its annual book sale for 2024
from Saturday, April 13, to Monday, April 15, in the Andruss Library Schweiker Room. The book sale has brought in
$48,400 since the first one was held 23 years ago. This money has gone toward several special projects, two of
which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook
scholarships to deserving students. There is always a need for more books, CDs, and DVDs. The items can be
brought to the Andruss Library Circulation Desk anytime the building is open, and if you have a large number that
need to be picked up please contact Robert Dunkelburger.

ECSC Elevator Out of Service
The East Campus Science Center elevator is out of service effective immediately and will be down for an
undetermined amount time for repair.
Trolley Repair
While the CU-Lock Haven campus trolleys are in for repairs and inspection, the trolley service will be operating the
Commonwealth University bus and one 12-passenger van until the trolleys are back online.

An interdisciplinary contingent of 11 Commonwealth University-Mansfield students toured U.S. Penitentiary
(USP), Lewisburg on Thursday, Feb. 29. For most of the students, all of whom are criminal justice or social

Documentary and Discussion Series about Palestine and Israel:
‘The Diaries of Yossef Nachmani’
Please encourage your students to attend and join us for a screening and a follow-up discussion of a compelling
documentary about Palestine and Israel: The Diaries of Yossef Nachmani on Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m.,
Centennial Hall 218.
The documentary explores the diaries of a land broker who worked for the Jewish National Fund. As an employee
for the JNF, Nachmani was “responsible for acquiring Palestinian lands for Zionist settlements from the 1930’s
through the 1940’s” and “is a unique history of the gestation and birth of the Jewish state, the Palestinian
diaspora, and the conflicts that continue to this day.”
Pizza with the Prez
President Bashar Hanna will host a “Pizza with the Prez” event on Tuesday, April 2, from 5-6 p.m. in Alumni Hall,
room 307. The event, open to any Mansfield student, will be held in the hour before the Student Government
Association’s regular meeting.
Join the Commission on the Status of Women at CU-Mansfield
Are you interested in advocating for women and supporting women’s issues on campus?
The Commission on the Status of Women is an organization that works to support women on campus and provide
programming to further this mission. The commission meets one-to-two times per month and asks for additional
support at commission-sponsored events throughout the academic year. Students, staff and faculty are welcome
to join the commission for the 2024/25 academic year. If you are interested in becoming a member, please submit
your information by Sunday, March 31, at https://bit.ly/joinpcsw.
Elections will take place at the Wednesday, April 3, meeting and new members will be welcomed at the first
meeting in the Fall 2024 semester. The commission will contact interested parties by April 15 with election results

Volunteers are needed for Community Care Day, Sunday, April 7, from 1-5 p.m. We are looking for dedicated
individuals to join us in our mission to make a positive impact in our community. You can sign up as an individual
or a group (club/organization/department) for projects in the community such as painting, trash pickup, yard

Garden and Sustainability Activities
CU Mansfield's Garden and Sustainability Club is hosting a house plant sale. Anyone interested can stop by 106

CU’s Partnership with Ferrilli to End April 30
Commonwealth University’s partnership with Ferrilli will come to an end on April 30. Ferrilli is the consulting firm
that was brought on board in May 2023 to help with the implementation of the Banner/OneSIS student
information system.
All faculty and staff who should take the available trainings, but have not done so yet, should do so by or before
April 30. After that date, live trainings with Ferrilli staff will no longer be available to CU employees. Trainings will
later be organized through the Registrar team and Brightspace.
Helpful materials that are now on Brightspace will continue to be available for faculty, staff and students after
April 30 and updated as appropriate.
Ferrilli is offering advising and registration open office hours through April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each
weekday through Zoom. You can also submit an IT issue through the issues log.

Applications Being Accepted for Service-Learning Program in Jamaica
Applications are now being accepted for the service-learning program to Jamaica, which will be offered Dec. 14-21
during the winter session. Students at all Commonwealth University locations and in all majors are welcome to

DEI Holding Women’s History Month Donation Drive
DEI is looking for donations to support women and children. Donated items will support residents of the YWCA
Northcentral PA’s Wise Options. Wise Options provides refuge for survivors of violence in a safe and secure site.
Wise Options’ emergency shelter for victims of abuse is the only shelter of its kind in Lycoming County. In addition
to Wise Options, donated items will also be distributed to women and children during a community engagement
day that DEI is hosting in Williamsport on Thursday, March 28.
DEI is hopeful to have the following items donated: pillows/pillowcases, cookie sheets, diapers, children's books
and games, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, school supplies, baby supplies and new and slightly used
clothing. Donated items will be accepted at the following locations:

Career Connection Expos Set for Spring
Please alert your students to the following Career Connections Expos. In addition to being a convenient way to
network and find internships and jobs for third- and fourth-year students, expos are also great way for first- and
second-year students to explore careers, establish connections, and practice networking with potential employers.
Students can register on Handshake under “career fairs” and find toolkits, resume labs, coaching appointments
and more ways to prepare under “career center.” Students in need of professional attire can visit the Career Closet
on their respective campus.

Commonwealth to Host Radio Institute in May
CU-Bloomsburg will host the Confer Radio Talent Institute’s week-long course in May to prepare aspiring
broadcasters for a successful radio career. The Institute, made possible through the support of broadcaster Kerby
Confer, the Radio Advertising Bureau, and Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg, brings broadcast professionals
from around the country to teach students about every aspect of the industry, including on-air programming,
writing, news, sports, and sales. The Institute will be held from Monday, May 20, to Saturday, May 25. All college

Students from all Commonwealth campuses participated in the Seventh Annual Husky Dog Pound Competition on
Thursday, March 21. The Shark Tank-inspired business pitch competition hosted by the Zeigler College of Business
awarded $20,000 in prizes. Nearly 600 students from approximately 60 middle and high schools took part. The
university-level competition featured 11 teams made up of 17 students. University level winners were:

Renaissance Jamboree
The Renaissance Jamboree, a downtown Bloomsburg street festival, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Saturday, April 27, on Main Street, Bloomsburg. This event provides a chance for student organizations to spread
the word about their work and raise money for a cause. There is no booth fee for Bloomsburg student
organizations. There will be more than 100 crafters and 60 area non-profit organizations at the event. For more

LGBTQA Reception
The Commission for Gender and Sexuality will host its 15th Annual Reception on Friday, April 5, at 5 p.m. at the

The Friends of the Bloomsburg University Library Association (FOBULA) will hold its annual book sale for 2024
from Saturday, April 13, to Monday, April 15, in the Andruss Library Schweiker Room. The book sale has brought in
$48,400 since the first one was held 23 years ago. This money has gone toward several special projects, two of
which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook
scholarships to deserving students. There is always a need for more books, CDs, and DVDs. The items can be
brought to the Andruss Library Circulation Desk anytime the building is open, and if you have a large number that
need to be picked up please contact Robert Dunkelburger.

ECSC Elevator Out of Service
The East Campus Science Center elevator is out of service effective immediately and will be down for an
undetermined amount time for repair.
Trolley Repair
While the CU-Lock Haven campus trolleys are in for repairs and inspection, the trolley service will be operating the
Commonwealth University bus and one 12-passenger van until the trolleys are back online.

An interdisciplinary contingent of 11 Commonwealth University-Mansfield students toured U.S. Penitentiary
(USP), Lewisburg on Thursday, Feb. 29. For most of the students, all of whom are criminal justice or social

Documentary and Discussion Series about Palestine and Israel:
‘The Diaries of Yossef Nachmani’
Please encourage your students to attend and join us for a screening and a follow-up discussion of a compelling
documentary about Palestine and Israel: The Diaries of Yossef Nachmani on Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m.,
Centennial Hall 218.
The documentary explores the diaries of a land broker who worked for the Jewish National Fund. As an employee
for the JNF, Nachmani was “responsible for acquiring Palestinian lands for Zionist settlements from the 1930’s
through the 1940’s” and “is a unique history of the gestation and birth of the Jewish state, the Palestinian
diaspora, and the conflicts that continue to this day.”
Pizza with the Prez
President Bashar Hanna will host a “Pizza with the Prez” event on Tuesday, April 2, from 5-6 p.m. in Alumni Hall,
room 307. The event, open to any Mansfield student, will be held in the hour before the Student Government
Association’s regular meeting.
Join the Commission on the Status of Women at CU-Mansfield
Are you interested in advocating for women and supporting women’s issues on campus?
The Commission on the Status of Women is an organization that works to support women on campus and provide
programming to further this mission. The commission meets one-to-two times per month and asks for additional
support at commission-sponsored events throughout the academic year. Students, staff and faculty are welcome
to join the commission for the 2024/25 academic year. If you are interested in becoming a member, please submit
your information by Sunday, March 31, at https://bit.ly/joinpcsw.
Elections will take place at the Wednesday, April 3, meeting and new members will be welcomed at the first
meeting in the Fall 2024 semester. The commission will contact interested parties by April 15 with election results
and a link to the Doodle poll for the Fall meeting time.

individuals to join us in our mission to make a positive impact in our community. You can sign up as an individual

Holly Jackson is hosting a workshop with the Garden and Sustainability Club on Wednesday, March 27, from 4 to 5
p.m. in 122 Grant Science: "Rural Sprouts part 2: Container and Sustainable Gardening." Come learn more about
container and sustainable gardening while making your own DIY pot and planting a seed to start at home. Email
