President’s Blog: The Time is Now: Reflections on Black History Month
“The time is always right to do what is right.”—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
As we near the end of Black History Month, I find myself reflecting on the words of several champions of equality.
Dr. King was a pioneer of the civil rights movement and a proponent of kindness, empathy, and social justice. He
believed these qualities when pursued together would make our world a more openhearted, fair, and equitable
place for all people to pursue their dreams. That was, after all, Dr. King’s central message—that all people should
have the right to dream and the freedom to work toward the fulfillment of such dreams. Read more.

which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook
scholarships to deserving students.
There is always a need for more books, CDs, and DVDs. The items can be brought to the Andruss Library
Circulation Desk anytime the building is open, and if you have a large number that need to be picked up please
contact Robert Dunkelburger. The Friends are looking for all types of books, both fiction and nonfiction, in GOOD
condition, that would appeal to a general audience, in addition to movies and music. Items that do not sell well
include outdated textbooks (more than ten years old), magazines, journals, encyclopedias, and Reader's Digest
condensed books.

Read more.

Representative will be offered via Zoom the following week. Please indicate that you wish to schedule a meeting
during the registration process. Spouses and partners are invited to attend.
If you have already made the decision to retire, please open a "Retirement Counseling Request" inquiry through

Items Needed for Annual Book Sale
The Friends of the Bloomsburg University Library Association (FOBULA) will hold its annual book sale for 2024
from Saturday, April 13, to Monday, April 15, in the Andruss Library Schweiker Room. The book sale has brought
in $48,400 since the first one was held 23 years ago. This money has gone toward several special projects, two of
which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook
scholarships to deserving students.
