Students Invited to Apply for Board of Governors Position
Commonwealth University is a member of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher education, which is overseen by
the Board of Governors – a 20-member body that includes the Governor, the Secretary of Education, legislators,
trustees, and three students among its members. One current student member will rotate off the Board upon
graduation in December, so the search is underway to identify a replacement.
The Office of the President has the honor of nominating one student for the Board to consider when it makes the
appointment later this year. If you are interested in serving as a student member of the Board of Governors, you
can learn more HERE. Applications are due to Dan Knorr in the President’s Office no later than Thursday, Feb.
29. Questions and application materials should be submitted to dknorr@commonwealthu.edu. The President’s
Office will review all applications received and will send the information for my nominee to the Office of the
Chancellor. After that, the Board of Governors will review the nominations received from around the State
System and will make the appointment later this year.

Representative will be offered via Zoom the following week. Please indicate that you wish to schedule a meeting
during the registration process. Spouses and partners are invited to attend.
If you have already made the decision to retire, please open a "Retirement Counseling Request" inquiry through
HRConnect now so that the retirement process may begin. The on-campus presentations will give you an
opportunity to review and ask any remaining questions. HRConnect can also be reached during business hours

scholarships to deserving students. There is always a need for more books, CDs, and DVDs. The items can be
brought to the Andruss Library Circulation Desk anytime the building is open, and if you have a large number that
need to be picked up please contact Robert Dunkelburger. The Friends are looking for all types of books, both
fiction and nonfiction, in GOOD condition, that would appeal to a general audience, in addition to movies and
music. Items that do not sell well include outdated textbooks (more than ten years old), magazines, journals,
encyclopedias, and Reader's Digest condensed books.

2015 when Olivia was an early childhood/special education major, and Adam was an Accounting/Business
Administration major. Because of their professional practice as students, both had jobs lined up before

which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook
scholarships to deserving students.
