HUSKY PRIDE
It all started with "all eyes on the quad" on Thursday.
September 6th when students, faculty and staff all gathered
on the Academic Quad for a high-energy launch of "unleash
your inner husky"! This launch showcased the HUSKY
PRIDE that runs through the university community!

i

What is your inner husky?... Inner Husky is pride in BU and
your drive to excel and achieve. It's challenging yourself to
explore ALL possibilities. It's personal and it's told through
the life stories of each and every one of us who believe that
Bloomsburg University's education and support enriched
their personal and professional lives!

The 2012 edition of the Bloomsburg University Husky

A major reason for this, according to Gifford Howarth, is
its solid collection of SENIORS!! Several folks have been

How appropriate that the theme for the Bloomsburg University
yearbook, The Obiter, is "Faces of BIT. When think back about the

strolled through campus, ate at the Scranton Commons, met at
academic events or joined at sporting and cultural activities.

Many of you experienced an awakening of your senses as you
transitioned from high school days to university life. You world
expanded and your perspective changed through the rich diversity of
individuals on our campus. Academic and co-curricular experiences
provided a learning environment that will serve you in many capacities
throughout your

life.

Think about the BU faces that greeted you daily - students from many cultural
backgrounds, encouraging faculty from around the world, smiling food-service
workers, helpful residence hall custodians, empathetic health care workers, caring
department secretaries and supportive coaches. All these interactions have
contributed to your growth as a young adult and BU graduate.

Wh nna
it all started when, you were voted most likely to succeed at your
8tH grade graduation. You graduated witH Honors in high school, only to
duplicate this achievement once again. Admission to a doctoral program,
one of ten, this is certainly a success. Four years from now you will adorn
the title Doctor in front of your name. There is no stopping you and
your relentless drive to achieve to be the best you can be. Hours of
studying while others were sleeping, relaxing, and enjoying trips home;
you were in the library preparing for your next big test. You gave up so
much to excel, but now you are living your dream and
reaping the benefits of all your hard work. You have
demonstrated not only shown what a good college
student is, but embody the true definition of a wellmatured adult. You have made us proud your entire
life, from all those laps in the pool to recovering
from your shoulder surgery to getting back to what you
love when they said it was over. You show true
determination in all that you do, so stand with your
head high; you are a great friend, loyal loving
sister and a great daughter. Keep being the
person you are and look back on the last
four years with pride and enjoyment. You
