THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
April 26, 1996
Greetings to everyone gathered for the 100th anniversarycelebration of the Community Government Association at Bloomsburg
University.
For the past century, your organization has provided a forum for
young leaders to meet and share ideas about student government.
This
event commemorates the wonderful spirit of service and activism that
energizes our nation's schools.
By working with peers and dedicated
faculty members, the students of Bloomsburg University have learned
ways to better serve their school community and enrich their
education.
I obtained my first real experience in public service through
my participation in student government, and I know that the lessons
learned in this endeavor will serve you for the rest of your life.
I hope this anniversary celebration inspires all of you to continue
the work of the Community Government Association with renewed energy
and fresh ideas, and I commend you for working to make our future
brighter.
Best wishes for a wonderful event.

Years ago you devised a plan and began travelling on
it's
path.
You have experienced many
^things in the past four years.
Some which
left loving thoughts.
Others brought pain for you to work through.
Friendships were developed which will not be forgotten.
Tales which are better left untold and others which brought joy and laughter.
You have grown and matured from your experiences and what you have learned.
Now your
pathways have split into different directions.
Will you remember what you have learned?
Will you demonstrate your maturity in dealing with others?
Will you take responsibility for yourself?
Will you show others the respect they deserve?
Did you develop the ability to think beyond today?
Can you distinguish the difference between your dreams and reality?
Remember those who helped you along the way as you did not accomplish this much alone.
Make sure they know and feel like they were and are an important part of your life.
Everything we've told you "might" not be true, but it is from our experiences and our hearts.
All our love.
