State's
efforts to conserve energy
have received recognition.
The
publicity
subcommittee of the LHS committee on conservation of
institutional
resouTses
wishes
to
commend
the
college community on the
whole hearted effort lo conserve energy.
According lo the committee sludents have been
especially cooperative putting up with the problems of
cool rooms and eoid rooms.

Fred fights
'trashy' fire

last evening.

to snuff out the blaze. This
leaves the PUB with no extinguishers
remaining.

Smith Hall is the scene of vandalism

Damages in e x c e s s of
$400 was reported done lo
the third floor lounge of
Smith Hall. Reports indicate
that the vandalism occured
the nighl of January 20.

damage: 3 lounge chairs
and four sofas were punctured and.'or large pieces of
upholstery ripped from them,

receiver was ripped from the
wall,
several
janitorial
c l o s e t s were ransacked, a
number
of
urinals
and
camodes were plugged wilh
trash until they overflowed,
glass
was
broken in a

vending machine and a metal
strip
removed
from
the
machine.
This
strip
is
believed to tie the object
used to damage the furniture.
The Law FLnforccment
division is in charge of the
investigation
and
have
interviewed several people
who, according to Dean
Smalley, have leads concerning the damages. In
addition to the invesligationi
the Dean has asked that
anyone who knows anything
about the incident please
come forward. Because of
the magnitude of the damage
done, Smalley said that it
would be impossible for it to
be done without
anyone

Smith Hall Council is
considering offering a reward
of $100 or $200 for information leading to the identification of the guilty person
or persons. Wayne Evans in

anyone who wishes to go to

Clarion swoops past Eagles

The Intramural Basketball progiam opened its '74
season

This year the program cons i s t s of three Divisions, wilh

In the highest scoring
game of the night, it was 2nd

of 71-54. Kelly paced the

Once again the rush is
on.
That
is the Interfraternity
Council
Spring
Rush program bas 'oegun.
.Any male interested in
joining
one of the six
campus fraternities is invited lo join in Ihe Ivio
