By Wednesday evening, at
the end of five days of compe-
tition, Kappa Delta Rho leads
the fraternities in the Greek
Week games with a score of
66 and Alpha Sigma Tau re-
presenting the sororities with
82 points.
The annual Greek Week
tournament opened on Satur-
day with Lambda Chi Alpha
capturing the flag football
game 14-2 over second place
Tau Kappa Epsilon. Sigma
Sigma Sigma defeated Alpha
Sigma Tau in the final round
of the sorority basketball
tournament with a 26-21 vic-
tory.
On Sunday, Greek Sing
was held in the CUMPR, be-
ginning at 1 p.m. Delta Zeta
sang their way into a first
place finish with a Barry
Manilow Medley. Alpha
i
Sigma Tau and Kappa Delta
earned the second and third
places, respectively with an
Eddie Rabbit and James Tay-
lor medley.
Kappa Delta Rho, big win-
ners in the Sunday afternoon
events, won both the keg
throw and tug-of-war. A team
comprised of Dwayne (Chief)
Reed, Bill Hazeley, and Erie
Saloom threw the 2 barrel
for a combined best of three
throws 821" for the win.

tinued to win the tug-of-war
over second runners up
Lambda Chi Alpha.
The obstacle course, the
only scheduled athletic event
for Monday, consisted of par-
ticipants bounding over and
through hurdles, cones and
tires. Two members from
each organization competed
and compiled their times for
scoring purposes. Alpha Sig-
ma Tau and Alpha Sigma
Alpha tied in the event with a
combined time of 1:58:4 and
Lambda Chi Alpha won the
event for the fraternities with
a time of 1:30:4. Sigma Pi fol-
lowed by clocking a 1:34:0.
The well attended dance
fundraiser to benefit the
SRSC Special Education Lab
School raised $804 from tic-
ket sales. Kappa Delta Rho
and Alpha Sigma Tau chor-
eographed a dance routine to
“"Candy Girl” to win the
dance contest.

During a single elimination
volleyball tournament on
Tuesday, Kappa Delta Rho
defeated Sigma Pi while Al-
pha Omicron Pi defeated
Kappa Delta.
The overall big winners for
the swimming events were
Phi Sigma Epsilon and Alpha
Sigma Tau with 21 points
each. The events included a
50 and 75-yard freestyle, a 50
and 75-yard backstroke, a
200-yard relay and the 25-
yard doggie paddle.
Alpha Sigma Tau swept all
but one first place in the track
competition. Junior Sally We-
ger captured the 60 and 440-
yard dashes and anchored
the winning 880 yard and
mile relay teams. For the fra-
ternities professional football
player, Ricky Porter of Alpha
Phi Alpha and Kappa Delta
Rho's Don Myers displayed
