WANTED:
Constructive Critics
Now that LHS has settled
down into the routine or "normal
l i f e " for this semester, i t ' s time
to reflect upon a day last semester.
Remember that Saturday last
December just before Christmas
vacation-the one where you had
to fight for those c l a s s e s you
have this semester? Remember
some more-remember those silent
displayers of bad news; the TV
s e t s all over campus that were
churning out the closed sections
and c o u r s e s . LRC-Learning Resources Center-sometimes known
as Campus Services, was providing this service (now in its second semester).
Don Ludlow manned the
"hot l i n e " from the Field House
taking down the information and
relaying it to the RC Secretary,
Mrs. Weaver. Mrs. Weaver, at the
console of a " D a t a v i s i o n Information Incerter," kept the listing
up to date and Leo Ritter, Master techniction, kept the bad
news coming over the " w i r e s . "

If any studeni has any constructive
criticism
pertaining
to next s e m e s t e r ' s registration
TV show, later in the spring,
he should drop a note in the internal mail to Learning Resourc e s , Russell 23. The " C h i e f "
will be happy to consider your
s u g g e s t i o n s . Also anyone eligible for work study and needing a
job this semester should contact
LRC at th( same place.

CONSIDER...
Everyone who t a k e s the
Eagle Eye for granted ought to
visit iheEagle Eyeoffice in the
PUB a s I did to learn about the
work which goes into the production of this periodical.
I talked with Debbie Bricker, who, as Editor, heads a staff
of less than twenty people. The
preparation of the newspaper includes article a s s i g n m e n t s , photography and printing of pictures,
type s e t t i n g , lay-out, and press
run. The approximate length of
time from article assignments to
press run is 12 hours per i s s u e .
The Eaglf Fiye comes out
3 times a week the days varying. The papers are printed between 7 am-9 am in the morning
and the person who runs the
press plus any available editors
distribute them to various buildings; the Administration Building, Library, Rauh, PUB, Zimmerii, Ulmer, Bentley, and the
Infirmary. 1000-1500 copies are
printed at a time on the press located in Russell Hall.
The articles which appear
in the paper have many s o u r c e s .
Some are assignments given to
various persons on the EE staff.
Others are from regular sports
writers who give detailed accounts of many competitions.
Non-staff contributions come
from many of the college English Composition c l a s s e s .

Elliot Schreiber is the new
Communication staff member.
Currently Mr. Schreiber is teaching Reporting, Reporting Workshop and Advertising in Contemporary of Society. He i s also
the advisor of the Bagli Eye.
Mr. Schreiber was born and
raised in Wilmington, Delaware
and graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in
political s c i e n c e . After graduation he moved to Conn, where he
worked for a pharmaceutical
branch of Revlon Cosmetics and
dealt with marketing research.
Mr. Schreiber also edited the
company newspaper.
Recently he completed his

master's requirements at Penn
State.
While attending Penn
State he taught a mass media introcourse to non-journalism majors.
In the near future, Mr.
Schreiber plans to work for his
doctorate in the Speech/Communication a r e a .
He r e s i d e s in Stale College
and l i s t s his hobbies as collecting old newspapers and magazines and studying the underground p r e s s .
Mr. Schrciber's first impression of LHS is a favorable
one. He likes the infoinal c l a s s
atmosphere and the teacher-student rapport.
