Postcard in color with caption "Branch Bridge, Shippensburg, Pa." Postcard verso addressed to "Miss Kate E. Grove, Pennington, New Jersey". Verso transcription:"Aug.24.07 Howard [or Howland] Shoemaker arrived here yesterday morn. They made a mistake in checking his baggage and sent it to Asbury Park. But they telegraphed for it. I expect to be down on the 24th. C.L.G. 341 [or 241] W. Orange St."\nThe Post Office stamp on right reads "SHIPPENSBURG, PA AUG 4 9PM 1907". The left reads "SHIPPENSBURG, PA AUG 5 6PM 1907". Possible the message was written on July 24 and not Aug 24 based on stamps.

Verso message Transcription: "Dear Frances, I expect to be back to your home sometime Friday. I have a key so don't feel you need to be there. The summer has gone by so fast. My best to both of you Margaret Miss Frances LeFevre Box 146 Neffsville Pa."

Caption reads "Decorations of Philo Anniversary, May 15, 08, C.V.S.N School, Shippensburg, PA" and has photographer's log on bottom right. Philo was the Philomathean or 'Philo' Literary Society, an early student group at CVSNS. Verso of postcard depicting Philo decorations with handwriting "Lloyd B. Shoap '08".

A fence sits along the right side of the pond. A two story bulidng, stone of first floor, light wood siding on second, sits in the background behind the trees. Three wooden post, possibly telegraph, are positioned behind lake adjacent to the builidng. Handwritten on right edge is "Sept. 27-'06 Thanks for CardR." Appears more writing on the edge below this but is cut off from image. \nVerso of Funks Duck postcard addressed to "Miss Kate E. Message transcription: "Dear Mother:- Rec'd [Received] the letter and stamps. Many thanks you remember that white corduroy skirt of mine buttoned down with the big buttons. They broke one off in the wash. There are a couple in the machine drawer. Will you please put one in your letter when you write. You can see from this card how near the train runs to school. Suppose I won't know home when I get there. Lovingly, Mary"
