Verso transcription:"Aug.24.07 Howard [or Howland] Shoemaker arrived here yesterday morn. They made a mistake in checking his baggage and sent it to Asbury Park. But they telegraphed for it. I expect to be down on the 24th. C.L.G. 341 [or 241] W. Orange St."\nThe Post Office stamp on right reads "SHIPPENSBURG, PA AUG 4 9PM 1907". The left reads "SHIPPENSBURG, PA AUG 5 6PM 1907". Possible the message was written on July 24 and not Aug 24 based on stamps.

Message transcription: "Dear Mother:- Rec'd [Received] the letter and stamps. Many thanks you remember that white corduroy skirt of mine buttoned down with the big buttons. They broke one off in the wash. There are a couple in the machine drawer. Will you please put one in your letter when you write. You can see from this card how near the train runs to school. Suppose I won't know home when I get there. Lovingly, Mary"

Commercialchrome postcard featuring the Cumberland Valley State Normal School's gymnasium. The gymnasium, now known as Stewart Hall, was built in 1894. The building was named Stewart Hall in 1950, when it was dedicated to former faculty members John Keats Stewart and Harriet Wylie Stewart. In 1916, when this postcard was produced, the gymnasium had an indoor track and was used for men's and women's physical education classes. The original campus complex, including Old Main, Horton Hall, Stewart Hall, Gilbert Hall, and the Martin House (the president's residence), has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is known as the Cumberland Valley State Normal School Historic District, reflecting the university's original name.\nPostcard verso with inscription reads "Dear Mother: This is to let you know I found my ring in bed this morning.
