9.23 Meeting Minutes
Attendance: Taylor (P), Bridget (T), Brendon (S), Dr. Trejos (Advisor), Austin, Joseph, Erin

President- If members have not sent their information to Bridget, it needs done ASAP for the research
grant, otherwise members will have to pay $100 each to virtually attend the Model UN conference. We
are going to check to make sure the travel grant is still available for this semester. Registration for NYC
conference in spring opens in October. Please let Taylor know if you are planning on going or if you are
unsure. There will be be virtual options in place for the NYC conference with the possibility of in-person.
Bring ideas of what country and region you'd like to see CUMUN represent in the Spring. Position papers
are due OCT. 15. Please try to get your position paper turned in a week before that. Utilize UN resources
for writing your position papers and try turning them in to the Writing Center before submitting them to
us.

Treasurer-Starting Yankee Candle Online Fundraiser by October 1. Will send the link to members when
we have that started. No limit to the advertising for that, can be advertised through email, social media,
posters. Try to recruit for Spring Semester starting in Novermber to try and get enough numbers for NYC
conference, getting underclassmen. Looking at maybe pens or business cards with the club and meeting
time information.

Secretary-Recruitment statement to deliberate for next meeting between the members.

Advisor (Dr. Trejos)- Recruitment, what can be done to try to gain members. Reaching out to Tina
Horner for "Things to Know for the Week"? More proactive way to get student involvement.
