Constitution Anime Club of Clarion University Article I: Name The name of this organization shall be called the Anime Club of Clarion University. Article II: Objective/Purpose The Anime Club is an organization in which provides opportunity for interested students to expand their knowledge of Japanese pop culture through discussions, attendance, and participation. Our club encourages students to obtain the foundation and framework to become more knowledgeably fit as social beings. Article III: Membership The Anime Club is an open organization for all Clarion University students. There will be no major/minor requirements and no minimum quality grade point average. Our organization is designed for the interest and improvement of all students. Article IV: Officers The organization will consist of interested and qualified officers. The following positions will be held throughout the academic year: President: The President shall call for meetings and will preside over the duration of each meeting. The President shall be responsible to meet all deadlines. The President is also responsible for all aspects of the club including: fundraising, trips, conferences, and other aspects of the academic agenda. The President may delegate authority to other officers or club members if deemed necessary. Vice President: This is a position of authority ranking just below the President. The Vice President is empowered to assume the President’s duties under such conditions as absence, illness, or death. Other departmental duties such as overseeing sub-divisional branches occurring on the trips and/or meetings will be overseen by the Vice President. Secretary: The individual under this position will be expected to employ the handling of correspondence, keep files, and do clerical work for the organization. This officer shall keep records of club meetings and other organizational transactions. The Secretary will meet regularly with the President and Vice President for the execution of his/her duties. Treasurer: The Treasurer, in coordination with the faculty and advisor, shall be responsible for the financial records and upholding the character and honesty of correctly appropriating funds. Community Service Chair: The Community Service Chair is in charge of managing the club’s presence within the University community. Specifically, these duties include managing the social media accounts, club email, and CU connect pages. Nominations and elections will be held during the last association meeting of the academic year. Officers will assume their responsibilities at the beginning of the following year and maintain position under adequate maintenance and through the action of upholding a harmonious environment in the coherence with the cognitive content of the society. Nominations must be raised and seconded. Officer positions are only open to committed students. Elections are decided by a simple majority of members present at the meeting. In the event that an Officer is unable to continue his/her duties then the Officer is required to announce his/her resignation. At this point the duties of the resigned officer will be assumed by the President until a new member is nominated and elected to fill the position. In the event that the resigned officer is the President, the Vice President will assume the office of the President and a new member will be nominated and elected to fill the Vice Presidential position. In the event that an officer is seen unfit to continue in his/her duties, this officer may be put to a vote of Impeachment by a 2/3rd majority of the members present. The officer in question may choose to present a defense, if he/she is not forthcoming with a defense then the impeachment will be put a vote of the current members present, with a 2/3rd majority resulting in impeachment. This office will be filled through the appropriate above stated clause. Article V: Meetings Meetings will be held as needed. To maintain a satisfactory set of goals, the club will hold meetings weekly; and at least once a month in the undesirable conditions. Elected officers will be expected to attend each meeting. During the meetings, reports will be given from all officers. The planning of activities and relevant matters will be conducted. No quorum will be necessary to vote on any issue proposed at a meeting. The votes will be decided by a simple majority of the members present. All business is conducted in an informal atmosphere with university goals in mind. Any other necessary meetings will be called by the President at his/her discretion. Article VI: Funding Funding for the club activities will be voluntarily donated by the membership of the club. Article VII: Amending, Suspending, and Accepting Amendments to the Constitution will be made by a majority vote of members present at the meeting. Notification to all core and usually present members will be given in advance. Amendments must be drafted and proposed at the meeting prior to which they are voted on. Amendments passed by the members of the Anime Club are subject to approval by the professors of the Institution of Clarion and/or by the Student Senate and/or by the standing President of the University of Clarion of Pennsylvania. The Constitution may be suspended by approval of a simple majority of current members. Article VIII: Ratification The majority of our association must ratify the Constitution and must be recommended by the professors of the Institution of Clarion and/or by the Student Senate and/or by the standing President of the University of Clarion of Pennsylvania. Article IX: Maintenance Clause Any changes under the current condition of this Constitution shall hereby be reported and presented in the presence of the Student Senate.
