Clarion University Clarion, PA CURE CUP Bylaws Article I: Name of Organization This name of this organization shall be CURE CUP and is affiliated with CURE International, which is a non-profit organization that operates charitable hospitals and programs in 29 countries worldwide where patients experience the lifechanging message of God’s love for them, receiving surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity. CURE International’s website is www.cure.org. Article II: Purpose The purpose of CURE at Clarion University shall be to provide financial support for CURE International to treat patients in underserved areas whose physical disabilities can be corrected or alleviated through medical intervention, while praying for their recovery, and provide the opportunity to attend trips to CURE’s locations abroad. This organization will empower students to make a lasting difference in the lives of children who need healing. Article III: Membership 1. Membership Requirements a. Membership in this organization means you are a regularly enrolled student at Clarion University. There are no other requirements and every member has equal rights and privileges. b. Nobody will be denied of membership because of their race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or national origin. 2. Membership Restrictions a. Active members can only participate in meetings, be elected, vote or represent the organization. 3. Membership Classifications a. Active Member i. To be an active member, student must attend meetings regularly and participate in events ii. Includes: registered students, graduate students and faculty advisor b. Alumni Membership i. Graduates of Clarion University c. Associate Membership i. Includes: registered students, faculty/staff, alumni, organization sponsor d. Faculty Membership i. Current professors or teaching personnel at Clarion University e. Honorary Membership i. May include anyone the organization chooses f. Other membership classes can be created Article IV: Officers 1. President (Executive Director) a. Presides over club meetings b. Main representative of CURE CUP that is responsible for maintaining positive relations with sponsors and the community 2. Vice President (Spiritual Chair) a. Assumes responsibilities of President when he/she is unavailable b. Contacts club members with upcoming events 3. Treasurer (Fundraising Chair) a. Responsible for all club finances b. Remains in contact with beneficiaries 4. Portal Admin (Awareness Chair) a. Keeps website and social media sites up to date b. Promote CURE on campus with creative ideas 5. Secretary (Speaking Chair) a. Records minutes of club meetings b. Sends letters to sponsors club members with upcoming event info c. Speaks to organizations on campus to promote more awareness 6. Special Events Chair a. Plans events for each semester b. Organizes entertainment, food, games, logistics for events 7. Team Member Chair a. Emails club members about meetings and events b. Encourages students to become a member of CURE CUP c. Answers questions for new members 8. CUREKids Chair a. Sending out get well cards and bringing awareness to the idea b. Update chapter on the 10 kids we are funding c. Praying for the children 9. Photography Chair a. Take pictures at all events b. Creates videos throughout the year Article V: Meetings 1. Vice President is responsible for scheduling regular meetings. 2. President is responsible for conducting regular meetings. 3. Regular meetings should occur bi-weekly. 4. Officers have the authority to call special meetings. 5. Club members and officers will be notified of special meetings through email. 6. Nominations and Elections a. Nominations will take place one month before spring semester is finished b. Elections will take place the second to last meeting of the year 7. Voting a. Only active members can vote b. Votes will be cast ballot c. Votes will be counted by President d. There must be a majority vote to win an election Article VI: Quorum 1. Quorum shall be 60% of the active membership. Article VII: Amendments 1. This constitution can be amended at any chapter meeting by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting. The notice of amendment has to be given in the previous meeting. Article VIII: Ratification 1. This constitution was voted on and approved by the members of CURE CUP.
