Constitution of Health Careers Club Article I: Name Section 1: The name of the organization is Health Careers Club, and will be referred to as HCC. Article II: Purpose Section 1: The purpose of Health Careers Club is to guide pre-professional students in the right direction to be successful. We try to bring in professionals to talk to the students and network with them. We function to be a club that students can go to with any of their questions and to help them understand what is expected of them in their future. We strive to help studnets build their resumes by offering workshops, activities, and volunteering hours. Article III: Affiliations Section 1: Health Careers Club is affiliated with Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Article IV: Membership Section 1: The majority of the members of this club consist of Clarion University Pre-Professional students, and any other student of interest. Section 2: This organization and its members shall not discriminate against any individuals for reasons of race, national origin, color, religion, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, and/or ability status. Article V: Officers Section 1: The officers of this club shall consist of… President: The president will be the face of the club and control how the club is represented. The president has the duty of leading discussion of every club meeting and any kind of event. Vice President: The vice president of the club has the responsibility of planning everything for the club. They plan for meetings in the summer for the fall semester and for the spring semester in the fall/winter. The vice president will contact every college and program who will be coming to visit our club, along with any contacts for volunteering and professors. Secretary: The secretary of the club is responsible for communication of meetings and events with the students and professors within Clarion University. They are also in charge of broadcasting events and making sure we have a high attendance of students come to our meetings. Treasurer: The treasurer is in charge of planning anything that has to do with money and making sure we have funding for our events if necessary. Section 2: The term of each officer will be held for a year, from August to May, and can either step down, or be re-elected by the club based on a vote. Article VI: Advisor Section 1: Our advisor(s) must be professors at the University and be able to guide any pre-professional student in the right direction if asked. They must oversee the activities of the club and be able to give advice to the officers to help push them to do their duties for the club. Article VII: Meetings Section 1: Regular meetings will be held in the science and technology center in room 122 at 5 pm every Tuesday. If there is not a meeting, it will be addressed and made sure to be clear to the members of the club. Article VIII: Amendments Section 1: This constitution shall be amended by a vote of majority by the members who come to the meeting to have a choice in who becomes the next officer. Section 2: The members who are eligible to become an officer is any member of the club. They will be informed via meetings and via email for the designated time and place of officer elections. By-Laws of Health Careers Club Article I: Membership Section 1: The procedure for the selection of membership is to attend then meeting given to vote for who you would like to be the next officer. The option to volunteer to run for an officer is available. If more than one person volunteers for a position, a majority vote will determine who gets to be the next officer. If someone does not volunteer to be an officer, someone will be elected and can reject or accept the offer. Section 2: Membership responsibilities include going to every meeting and being involved in discussion throughout the meeting. Article II: Amendment Section 1: These laws may be amended by a majority vote.
