Returning are Franklin Rishel, William Gering, Mike Mellinger, and Thomas Keeney. Lost through graduation were Milton VanWinkle and Charles Wilson. Another letterman, Thomas Evans, didn't report this year due to student teaching commitments. Frank Rishel improved a great deal during the last season and should be one of the top Husky performers. Southpaw Bill Gering worked extremely hard on his game last summer and should be a much stronger player this year. Tom Keeney developed extensively toward the end of last season and now plays a much steadier game. Mike Mellinger has also been working hard to improve his playing performance. Four of last year's freshmen will move into varsity competition to give added strength to Coach Norton's squad. Ed Dietrich and Bob Zalonis have looked good in early workouts, while Joe Ksyniak and Jeff Snyder added experience throughout last summer to warrant being serious contenders. At this early date, not much is known of the ability of Bob Hinkle. For the past two weeks, the team has been working out on the college courts 'Yhen the weather has permitted and otherwise using the gymnasium for indoor practice. Coach Norton states that there seems to be a new air of confidence and eagerness in the team which points to improving last year's record. There are several outstanding freshmen working out and a 4 game schedule has been set for the frosh racketmen. All in all, the pic;:ture for tennis at BSC is the brightest it has be~n in recent years.
