Last year the Huskies had a 5 win-4 loss record and finished seventh in the Pennsylvania State College Meet. Missing will be the fine steady play of Alan Beily who was second medalist in the 1966 State Meet before graduating. Willard Bloom, John K wasnosky, and Jack Vasil also completed their college careers. Terry Walters, a potentially fine golf er, trans£ erred to another college last year. Holdovers from last year include Jim Masich, a regular starter, and Paul Fowler, who lettered as the alternate man of the team. Four sophomores-Al Fisher, Ron Buffington, Tom Castrilli, and Doug McRoberts-have impressed coach Himes with their varsity potential. A number of other sophomores and juniors have been vying for positions, and by the opening meet on April 15, Himes will have the opportunity to better evaluate their potential. This has been the worst pre-season weather in a number of years and these candidates have had to be content with working mostly indoors. The caliber of the state college teams is improving each year, and if the weather breaks early enough, this could be one of the best years of competition. The Huskies will again use the Briar Heights Golf Course near Berwick as their home course. A freshman schedule is again in effect and, with a good group of golfers, the future looks considerably brighter for the Huskies. GOLF COACH CRAIG L.
