Student Newspaper, 1923The student newspaper has had a number of titles over the years. The one issue in 1923 was
called “Hill Top News and Views.” When started up again in February 1924, it was “Bloom-InNews.” Then for 50 years from the fall of 1924 to the fall of 1974 it was the “Maroon and Gold.”
In January 1975 the newspaper was changed to “Campus Voice” until the fall of 1983 when the
newspaper settled on the title it has been known by ever since, the “Voice.” Over the years the
student newspaper has provided updates on different clubs and organizations, events happening
locally and on-campus, updates on different sports teams, excerpts of different poems and stories
from literary department, announcements concerning the school’s budget, planning, or
enrollment, articles concerning any controversy or issues on campus, section on global news and
letters to editors.
