leads the PSAC with 2.9 threes per game. His three-point
shooting percentage of .367 ranks among the top 10 in the league.
Freshman center Amos Upshaw continues to lead the Scots in rebounding. He grabbed eight in the
win over D’Youville and averages 7.4 per game.
Another freshman making his mark is point guard Adam Kaufman. Kaufman, the PSAC West
Rookie of the Week, is currently seventh in the nation, and leads the PSAC, in assists per game with
7.4. He ranks third in the conference in steals per game with 2.6. Kaufman’s 126 assists places him
16th in the Boro record books for single season assists. He needs just 25 assists to crack the career
top 20 in assists!
With Kaufman’s ‘Rookie of the Week’ honor, the Fighting Scots have now claimed the distinction for
three consecutive weeks, with Upshaw winning the previous two weeks, and five times throughout the
season. Kaufman previously earned the honor back on Nov. 11.
Central State University comes into tonight’s game with a 12-8 overall record. The Marauders have
won two of their last three games, but dropped their last contest to Kentucky State University with a
71-70 final score.
The Marauders are led In scoring by Ortavius Walker. The 6-5 junior forward is averaging 16.6
points per game on .456 shooting from the floor. Eric Grayson is the team’s top rebounder, grabbing
7.1 boards per contest.
The Fighting Scots will next be in action on Saturday (Jan. 24) when they host California University
of Pennsylvania. The Boro women’s team starts the action with a 1 p.m. tip-off. The men’s game will
follow at 3 p.m. The Fighting Scot men will also be in action on Monday (Jan. 26) when they visit the
Mercyhurst College Lakers. Edinboro won the earlier contest by a 79-65 final.
