They had a few stars out but they did not shine. They were given a pretty thoro scrubbing. Our reserves were anxious to win their last game and ., leave a good impression on the crowd. Although they threw the ball away a few times and missed some pretty easy shots they got along fairly well and won by a score of 1.0-13. A feature of the game was the close guarding of the Bloomsburg team. The town boys had a pretty fast team but they tried to pull our boys out of their defense and then break. In this they failed. They sank some nice long shots , but not enough. Not a single under-the-basket score could they get. The Tau Phi Lambda took the lead in the beginning of the game but at the very end of the half , Yozviak scored two fouls for Bloomsburg, making the score 8-7 in favo r of the Reserves. They came back into the game full of pep and immediately piled up an appreciable lead . Altho the T. P. L.'s tried hard to rally, our boys held. The lineup and summary : Tau Phi L'ds. B. S. N. S. He soems to be a very competent young man and we hope he will prove it to the utmost. On Saturday some of the members of the squad played their last game for Bloomsburg. It's tough luck they lost The whole team was off form in shooting and it was onl y on account of figh ting spirit that the score wasn 't different. A last quarter sally brought us within tliree points of the winners. But it came a little too late. Captain Jenkins ended a three year brilliant course on the Normal floor. It will be a loss to the team when he doesn 't appear next year. They There were two Juniors, playing Saturday, Oar- , rity and McGrath. McGrath has had a sensational rise since the beginning of the year. He scored five field goals himself. Garrity has been good all year. Mansfield had a pretty fast team and guarded closely. They seemed to gamble on fouling our men and count on missing his fouls. Four of th eir men went to the showers on personals. They were well prepared for that , having a full extra team with them. Their star was Brace, who sank six field goals. Bloomsburg took the lead early m the game and held it for a quarter when Mansfield came up from behind and led at half time 18-11. Mansfield had some lucky shots but Bloomsburg was undaunted and the crowd cheered loudly and long. In the second half the Bloomsburg team piled up the large score but could' not overcome the 7 point lead. They played an improved game. As three of our men were sent out on personals, all substitutes got a chance. They played well and probably should have been sent in sooner. The spectators were anxious for Bloomsburg' to win their last game and cheered. They kept up their spirits , however, in the face of defeat. Man sfield had a few rooters here who added to the noise. In all it was a grand time. lhe lineup and summary : B. S. N. S. M. S. N. S. Jenkins R. F Br ace Garrity L. F Gamble M cGrat h C Kellerm a n Walsh R. G Kell y Swinehart L. Monday the Seniors had a musical pro gram which was very good. Arlene Frantz warbled a whistling solo and Laura Mann sang. It was very enj oyable. On that clay Laura Mann lead in the devotions. She seemed perfectly at ease . Flore nce Reese led the singing for the second time. She is becoming really expert. Dorothy Troy was at the piano. On Wednesday Everett Jamison did his stuff as leader. He was complimented by Dr. Riemer. Mary Bomboy swung the baton and showed she knew how. She had a real accompanist in James Bittenbender. Others are beginning to ask for permission to perform. While making a few remarks on the chapel subject , Dr. Riemer said .that he was well satisfied with the way in which chapel was conducted. He said he had no fears for the future spiritual welfare of Bloomsburg Normal ; that any fears he may have had were lulled to rest by the performance of the students. Madame Elly Noy was an interested spectator of our exercises and she claimed that it was wonderful , We can well feel proud at her compliment as she has observe d many others. ELLY NEY STAYS HERE B.
