Proposed Instructors: Any qualified athletic training faculty, certified by the BOC, licensed as an athletic trainer by the state of PA, and credentialed as a Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT). L. Rationale for the Course: The course contains several required educational competencies and additional knowledge/skills to expand the clinical capabilities of our students. This course will qualify students to sit for the Registered Orthopedic Technologist exam to gain an additional certification. M. Specialized Equipment or Supplies Needed: The following are disposable items that would need to be ordered annually: orthoplast, padding, fiberglass casting rolls, stockinette, cotton roll padding, cast saw blades, semi-rigid fiberglass casting rolls, polyester casting roll, cut-to-length splinting material, scissors, Velcro elastic straps, Velcro tabs, gloves The following items would need to be purchased (either we do not own the item or would not have a sufficient supply): Flip cast stands, cast saw, zip sticks, cast spreaders, walking boots, hinged knee braces, knee immobilizers, Sully shoulder stabilizers, elbow hinge braces, wrist braces, thumb stabilizers N.
